    but the other issues seems to be overheating. remove the thermostat cover. clean t stat seat in block. install new head cover gasket and greased up t stat.

    if it doesnt start after 1/2 dozen pulls stop ! somethings wrong. you say spark plug wires changed... you must mean primary leads? because if those are swapped (blue goes on top, green bottom) it will do as described.

    pop throttle cable out. shift to forward then back just before you click into neutral. adjust throttle cable in trunnion with thumbwheel to get slack out. re-install cable. done. jsut make sure low speed adjust screw is firmly against it's stop or it will idle high.

    OMC is completely different. primary has like 0-1.5 ohms, secondary around 225-350 ohm. put a 1200 ohm coil in it and the voltage would go through the roof and burn out the charge coil i'd think.

    yea honestly ive never run one without a gasket, but for example if the whole cover and base was removed, you'd need to go up a couple sizes on the mains or it will 100% run lean. i guess it wont hurt, but again it was calibrated with those holes in mind. just something to think about. the cork...

    lever is inline with body in RUN position, 1st photo is correct. it wont dump fuel until the lever is even higher than the 2d pic (away from body) usually. is your spark advance and cam roller ok with both outer rubber sleeves present?

    i would never not use the cork gasket! its sealed and calibrated at high speed for your specific set of carbs. RTV seems impossible to get off and of course some could get into the reed area and hang them open i suppose. also the air silencer base has it's own cork gasket. if the outer cover one...

    right but i meant swapping the correct 1992-up gearcase as well. John Tiger just remembered he did the same thing and also changed the old tuner to the newer 1 piece less restrictive on as in the 130hp as well with no issues
