2001 Cabrio 290 Winlass Solenoid Location

Hey, I have an 08 Larson Cabrio 330 and the windlass is a Maxwell. My solonoid is mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment. If you have a fuse for it, you can trace the wires from there.

PSA, 'Volvo Penta Fuel Pump Rebuild

My 2008 5.7 gi-300-j Fuel Pumps are being rebuilt as we speak and these are the regulators I pulled today. Pumps and regulators are a total mess due to the paint issue! http://www.volvopentastore.com/Fuel-System/dm/cart_id.008429083--session_id.474298474--store_id.366--view_id.783815

    Leak from garboard plug

    Leak from garboard plug

Hello, I have a slight leak from the drain plug area. Very slight weeping. If I would take a guess, it is about a cup of water every two days or so. Problem is that the boat is in the water and I do not want to pay the haul out and haul in fees to fix the garboard properly. Any "in water"...

    Non OEM Fuel Regulator Replacement

Morning. The VP regulator (the one that was subject of the e-clip notice) is part number 3858967. Obviously overpriced. I believe it is a 4 bar unit, but can't find the specs. If it is 4 bar, I al looking at replacing it with a Bosch 0280160575. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Head and Vacu-Flush

The Y valve: One is to put the waste through the seacock and into the water and the other is put it into the holding tank. Are you switching the head pump and water systems on the panel?

    Head and Vacu-Flush

I'm assuming you have the same layout as me. The water holding tank is under the floor forward of the shower sump/water pump/AC pump access hole (right behind the cabin stairs). The waste holding tank is in the engine compartment on the starboard side up. Check that you see if it's full...

    Noise after impeller change

It can get noisy. Removing them today to get them rebuilt. Thanks, I'll do just that. It's odd that it coincided with me changing the impeller.. I wonder if I hit it and moved it around..

    Noise after impeller change

Hi everyone, changed the impellers today on my 2008's 5.7L gi-300-j. Both were in not to bad of shape. Installed easily enough, however I noticed an off noise from the engine afterwards. Below is a link to he video I took. Temps are good. Seems to be running fine. No leakage. Any thoughts...

    Parts Manuals Anyone?

Genmar built them. They used a lot of interchangeable parts is understanding. What motors and outdrives do you have? I've been having the traditional trim cover and cylinder issues with the DPS-A. Thinking about rebuilding the fuel pump too.

    Parts Manuals Anyone?

Good luck. I have the exact boat and it is impossible to find any information on it. How are you finding the boat? Any issues?

    5.0 GXi Rough Idle

Do you know what the pressure is in the low pressure side of the fuel pump? Any whining coming from the fuel pump?

    Ram cylinders

Fair enough. I think my plan will be to order the rebuild kits, get some hydraulic place nearby to do it, then the marina to install them. The boat has to be lifted out for the work by the marina anyway. Then they can flush both pumps and do the covers at the same time.

    Ram cylinders

Roger. That side has enterely stopped moving. I can hear the motor running, but I guess I was concerned that they are seized and beyond rebuilding. It's frustrating because on the other side I have that trim cover that is busted and water is for sure in that pump (VP sending me 2 trim...

Melting Fuel Pump Relays Volvo Penta 5.0 GXi

My relay went out last week. Replaced it. Have run about 10 hours on it since and no issues. I still have the original fuel pump. I thought it was due to the fuel pump working extra hard due to that paint issue or some other type of restriction. Now that you mentioned you have replaced the...

DPS-A trim sensor drives me nuts

What caused you to rebuild the cylinders?

    Ram cylinders

2008 or thereabouts. They are attached to the VP Gi-300-j. To be honest, I'm not that mechanically inclined to remove, rebuild, then re-attach successfully. I was hoping to have the trim pump/cover done at the same time too as that is causing some issues.

    Ram cylinders

    those are the options.
