Looking to Paint over Old Gelcoat.

Do I also have to use a primer, after sanding and wiping it down with acetone. I'm thinking of using this Rust-Oleum Oil based Paint.

Paint will make it 80 times better, as it's pretty ratty looking, especially on top of the stern.

Looking to Paint over Old Gelcoat.

Can anyone recommend a good paint to go over my old gel coat. It will be above the water line, it's just basically the top portion of my boat. The boat is almost 40 years old and the gelcoat is starting to look faded etc. Any suggestions, epoxy primer and then paint? Thanks

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

After I sand the transom and acetone it, should I do a light coat of just regular polyester resin? It could use some support in my opinion. It couldn't hurt or could it? *And would the peanut butter mix adhere to it, if I do a light coat of resin to the transom first. Your opinion. Thanks
