    Transom patch

Looks like you are making progress. It'll look like hell for quite a while. Then one day you'll notice that you've been putting stuff back together instead of tearing things apart. I'd at least pull the tank and clean it out, check the hole it was mounted in and ensure all is good.

    Transom patch

You'll feel much better with a full transom replacement when you are done. Gives a whole lot to peace of mind and saftey. What year is your Hawk? Looks like it'll be a fun boat. When I cut the fiberglass layer off of my transom, the transom literally blew away.

    Old I/Os = Money Pits?

My boat was free, with a trailer, but no I/O. Bought a Mercruiser 260 with an Alpha out drive for $400 from a guy in a storage unit. Figured it turns over, at least it was an ok core, lower unit turned and shifted. I got lucky, the motor fired on fresh gas dumped in the carb. Replaced the...

    Engine Cover/Rear Decking

As I go with this newer design for the engine cover, I'm thinking some 12vdc powered rams to raise the lid. Using quick release pins instead of bolts. Been working too much on other things and traveling for work.

Sewing thread recommendations for a class 15 machine

I bought a Juki Industrial Walking foot machine with table for $1800. It's servo driven, runs great. Will do at least 8 layers of seat vinyl without any hesitation as well as several layers of leather.

    No core floor

x 2, pull the cap.... and trim the stringers down to where the floor will fit between the stringers and the bottom of the cap.

I like that. Thanks for the pic.

    Engine Cover/Rear Decking

After looking at it over the weekend, I'm thinking that a short center doghouse with side wings and no top (using the current sundeck as the top) will work pretty well. Will be doing some measuring up this week to make sure what I'm thinking will work.

1986 Brougham Bridger Yukon Delta Fishing boat renovation

After using the boat for a summer, this floor covering has to go. All it does is turn the bottom of your feet black, as well as anything else on it. The rear seating setup...has to go as well. Makes everything very difficult to get to. Redesign has started.

    Engine Cover/Rear Decking

After using the rear decking as shown, I have come to the realization, it sucks. Can't reach the battery switches easily. Anything on the front of the motor that needs adjusted, can't get to. It's just inconvenient. Redesign has started.

@briangcc Might have to add a toggle switch at the hand crank for those lights. Unless they flicker to the beat of music, then you'd be ok...lol

@kcassells That trailer isn't mine. Just what I'm looking for in the underwater led lighting for under the trailer. Most of the docks we use, have at the most, one light. And it's not very bright.

1986 Brougham Bridger Yukon Delta Fishing boat renovation

@briangcc @kcassells Yep, that trailer sucks. I have made it fit the sea camper hull and it does work for short hauls. However, it has been through unknown number of floods and hacked and welded on in many places. Since the 'rona, steel prices have almost tripled. As of last week, I now...

1986 Brougham Bridger Yukon Delta Fishing boat renovation

Caught a few small ones, nothing to brag about. My GF caught a couple flatties around 2 pounds with worms. Had a fish break 20# test on her favorite metal pole. Never got it to the surface but it had the 2' metal pole bent over good. I'm thinking it could have been a pretty nice fish. Did some...

1986 Brougham Bridger Yukon Delta Fishing boat renovation

This stuff called Armorguard by Fiberon. Picked it up at Home Depot. It's a composite deck material. Seemed a bit heavy when I was done putting it together, but looks good on the back of the boat. 25 year warranty against fading.
