I'm currently towing my '69 18' Larson lapline with my '04 ford f350 crew cab diesel. My motto has always been anything worth doing is worth overdoing lol.

I pull a 17' smokercraft bass boat with either an 01' Tundra or an 02' Explorer.

Switched from a 96' C1500 5.7 to a 2004 Chev. Blazer 4.3, and 2004 Ford Explorer 4.0....While we had the Blazer already we prefered the pickup as the V8 had nice power and plenty of room. But, sadly we had to get rid of one of these and now we are back to V6's again. Better fuel economy and with our normal trips being within 35 miles either will do fine.... but will miss that power when we go up I-79 towards Weston for our annual crappie tournament..:(

Re: What do you pull your boat with?

Always had pickups, towed small tiller boats, pop up campers, utility trailers, etc. Gave up repairing the Silverado and got this used '02Yukon for a reasonable price. Been good over the winter, seems great towing my new (to me - '11) boat so far. Not expecting much problem towing a 2k# trailer with a 4K# truck tho lol

Since I'm usually alone, I'm planning on being able to overnight in the back of it on a few up north trips in the future.
My first SUV and it's no pickup, but I kinda like it so far. MPG, just.. isn't! But it's not my commuter, just a secondary toy hauler, so no biggie there.

I just got a 1988 Bayliner 1710 Trophy CC yesterday; I pulled it about an hour home with my '95 Range Rover.

Wow cool, I was thinking P38 when you said 95, I forgot they kept the classic in production overlap for a year - you got the new transmission for the last year they made them too! I really want a classic, I might sell the Disco and get one if I ever get bored haha.

I've loved the look of that vehicle ever since my neighbor got it over 4 years ago. I bought it from him this January. Smokin boat and tow rig by the way!

The truck is a 2003 Chevy S-10 Crewcab with a 4.3 V6. The boat is a 2001 Fisher Pro Avenger 16". Loaded boat, trailer and gear is 2580 pounds. I average 16 to 17 MPG trailering and 19 to 20 with just the truck.

Edit: Check in non-Boating Tech how to do pics like that if you want - QC

I pull my 05 bayliner 195 with my 07 jeep wrangler unlimited. It's lifted 2.5" on 35's. Does pretty damn ok. It's underpowered stock. Just gotta take it easy.

Re: What do you pull your boat with?

I was pulling it with a 96 Chevy c1500 pickupwith a 305, but with gas prices so high, and the new boat weighs so much more, I needed something that gets over 20 mpgs, yet can tow like a mutha. My car of choice is a 94 Cadillac Fleetwood with a LT1 350. It is capable of towing 7000lbs when equipped with the tow package. Mine was not eqipped with the tow package, so it will only tow 5000lbs. It pulls the boat like it was not there.
Both the boat and car were built in Texas.

'05 Cummins 3500....222,000 miles. I like passing cars going up a 7% grade while pulling boat. :D
