Re: What body of water do you boat in?

I live in Portage Indiana which is on the very southside of the lake so as long as there's no north wind it stays pretty calm. Today i was out there with a north wind of 5 mph and my 22" Regal handled it great :)

I have a 15' Chrysler courier 154 and the guy i bought it from used it on lake Michigan out of Chicago:eek:

I grew up with a house on Lake Of the Ozarks and still love that lake but I have too small of a boat to go out on it anymore.

Why to small?
Getting swamped by bigger boat's?

yea, when we had the house at lake of the ozarks a 21 ft boat would be just fine. Now the average size is 33ft. most of the boats there are offshore racing boats and cruisers. I think my brother put it in good terms one time. "that lake is now the hamptons of Missouri" not that long ago you could get a nice waterfront cottage for an affordable price now its all waterfront condos that are going for top dollar which brings in top dollar boats as well.

I'm also boating at Lake of the Ozarks. I dont even like going there on the weekends in my 21'. The wake is bigger than my boat around the main channel. I spend half the time in the air!

Lake Michigan once but mainly Lake St. Clair out of Metro beach. Sail #1181 - wave if you see it following the shorelines.

Texas' Highland Lakes: Lake Buchanon, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, Lake Travis and Lake Austin.

{Edit: As of 08-09-08, Lake Marble Falls is the only one I haven't been on.}

I boat at the Lake of the Ozarks too. What a great lake to go to with so much to do. I agree the place is absolute chaos on the weekends. From the 28MM to the dam its running the gauntlet. I tend to do my boating from the 30MM on but even so, the lake is growing with boaters and its starting to get ruff up there too. From time to time I will run the gauntlet to get to party cove and my poor little Sea Ray takes a pounding!

Illinois River, in around Peoria, but have been north to Utica, IL and south to Havana, IL. Suprisingly busy place with the area right around Peoria developed pretty nicely.

Delaware River... between Philadelphia and Trenton. It helps that I'm less than 5 mins to the boat ramp!

I cruised on the Spirit of Philadelphia right there in March of 2005! I sure did like the Navy ship yard.

Lake Berryessa, Clear Lake, Sacramento Delta, Camanche Reservoir, Folsom Lake, Lake Oroville, Lake Tahoe. But most of the time you'll find me at Lake Berryessa which is 1/2 hour away from my home. I'm still envious of the "Land of 10,000 Lakes", though.

Mainly LAKE PLEASANT ARIZONA

or

SAGUARO LAKE.. I learned to run my 1st boat at Saguaro so I usually go there to cruse around and test things out. Much smaller then Pleasant but its pretty nice up there.

Yeah, I hit most of the local lakes, but Lake Pleasant is my primary lake as it is about a 15 minute drive from my home. The best part about Lake Pleasant is the 10 lane boat ramp. I put a pic of the ramp below. The pic was taken to show a sunk boat at the doc, but also show the ramp. I am not sure who owned that boat, but I bet some unfortunate person is now posting questions on the restoration forum.
