Last time I paid $100 for something with 'boat' in the ad., it leaked....

Who is volunteering to leak test? :D

The words-

1971 Starcraft boat. 22'6", 165 hp merc cruiser inboard, 15hp four stroke kicker. Completely stripped down and re-done, even made cab roof longer to extend well over driver seat. Great protection from the weather. Hummingbird fish finder with gps tracking. Am, fm, cd stereo, marine 2 way radio, 2 way CB. Electric anchor. Cuddy is nice when you have children. One left.

He had more than one? What is the thing on the doghouse? Twenty grand CAD is a whole lot of cash, even worse in USD. He must have bought all the parts down here and paid the duties/import taxes and outrageous shipping.

I know boats go for more up there, but do you Canadians think this is priced high?

well it popped back up this year for only $500.....this time it was in his driveway and we had water....started right up....has a leaky primer solenoid and it needs a water pump for sure.... drove it home today(1 hour and 20 minutes) ......the controls need work...the fast idle lever doesnt work...but Ill be taking the motor off and using other controls....

Persevere, Bob, Persevere. 5 bills for a running 200 Ocean Runner can't be bad. Good find!

Very much worth a look if anyone is in the market. Sounds like sticky steering is the big issue, no biggie unless it's the swivel shaft.

Now that's a hardtop.... He must've had someone build that boat for him to be asking so much. I'm thinking around 9 to 10K would be a more reasonable price.

Who knows. If this is a professional restoration, essentially a brand new boat, with an essentially brand new motor in it....then it may be worth that to someone. If this was poorly done, and has a 43 year old motor in it that has merely been tuned up...different story. I know this isn't what I'm looking for.

I don't know, CJ. I'm not sure I would pay a grand even with the 9.9. Awful rough looking. But again just looking at pics and the ad words.

Cut & capped the outdrive w/ a kicker mount??

And is that a step pad mounted above the outdrive?

Okay that is just wrong, not even a swamp redneck would think of such a misguided use for that poor boat. I wonder what the heck possessed the guy to put those grab handles on the transom, I guess the same sort of mental illness as the kicker mount.
