2 ends of the Tin spectrum on Evil-bay:
Super size tinny (probably reserve priced to match)

And vintage tin, in Illinois:

VINTAGE ALUMINUM CRESTLINER OUTBOARD RUNABOUT BOAT W/ 30hp JOHNSON JAVELIN MOTOR

Way outside my target pickup/recovery zone. At $795, it's high for unknown motor condition, but the chrome looks to be in good shape and nothing of concern has been done to the boat, hull, bow cap, gunwale transom & bow endcaps. Great vintage 14ftr & motor.

The trailer is a complete unknown.......... good or bad? Funky though...

No fins, but if you're interested in vintage tin & OB's, this would be a good place to start.....

FWIW.... my second boat was an unknown brand 12' tinny w a '56 rude 7.5.
The engine was given to me by my 5th grade teacher with a rod hanging out of the block... the block was JB welded and the rod was replaced with a used one from a local shop and the engine is still in use today by a friend of mine.

Someone had patched the (severely corroded cracked and otherwise damaged) bottom of that boat with bondo which I discovered miles from the dock as it nearly sank on mu suddenly within half a minute... I managed to fire up the engine just in time and at wot water was rushing out of the boat over the transom all the way to the dock.... I being a kid and not knowing any better RE-patched the bottom with bondo-glass and painted it.... I used it for a couple more seasons before taking it to the scrap yard...... :D

The 25' Chief ebay seller wants $1200 for the trailer. $2700 for a total restoration Chief, plus used trailer, plus obsolete motor. Bit rich for a total restoration project.

some '56 Chevy tail lights me, i'd hold out for some of those Caddy or Chrysler ones that are designed to look like jet or rocket exhaust

JB, transitioning from what and to what? if you have some kideas or guidance, you're way ahead of me. :indecisiveness:

B2: For the final transitioning, the fiberglass/tin hybrid would make a great funeral pyre vessel

Actually I meant as you transition to a northern Californian, the fins are groovy, man, groovy I tell ya's........

i threatened the lady at the Texas Dept of Parks and Wildlife that if i couldn't get title to the boat, i'd just do a Viking funeral with it when i finally kick the bucket....

I think the Admirals should be a tad concerned for all the like-minded-ness we share B2 :watermelon:

But I like it :)

That 225 hp engine is worth a fair bit as well as the galvanized trailer. Maybe he is thinking of the individual values and counting the hull as a fair chunk
