Elkhunter, the engines on the below site caught my eye. Turn key, running, and gone over by a mechanic for $1200 for the 188hp ford... seems very inexpensive even with shipping to get a solid engine. Or $2200 for the 190 hp 4.3. But what really caught my eye was the Ford Windsor engine with 253HP for $2000. Has anyone heard of them?? The site also has a good many parts

Cool site but the engines were all sold out.

The 302 and 351 windsor are interchangable. Many guys with the older bronco with 302's drop a 351w in it.
the 351 cleveland is a differnt motor and won't interchange.
You could still probably get a good used motor out of a car and get it rebuild to marine spec's. Just can't buy a marine ford as easily as a marine chevy.
A starcraft with a rebuild 351w and a properly geared sei outdrive would make a fairly fast boat.

I would still like the 4.3 chevy because of fuel economy.

1977 starcraft islander project - $1500

i have a 1977 starcradt 22' islander project that i started and currently have run out of time its straight there are no dents in the hull or patches it all aluminum. the drive and engine have been removed to replace the transom (havent got to it yet) motor runs good. never had it in the water. this is a project for sure but your not going to find another one of these in this area for less. i would say it need to be restored at the very least the transom plywood replaced the floor is soft also. i dont need to sell it, this is a project i would love to finish and have a good boat for a long time but, time isnt on my side. if there is no interest ill store it for the winter and get back to it sometime next summer.

Did anyone take a look at this 25' Chieftain in Cedar Rapids Iowa?

Didn't this guy start a resto thread in the other forum? I think he paid under 1K when he got it. I like this boat a bunch, but I'd be so dead if I brought this home from NY.

I believe he's including the outdrive on that measurement.
