Charlie, you've certainly paid your dues for life in the Blood and Tin club. but get back with us on the above after you have "tiller shoulder" (tennis elbow for the small tinboat set) and are eating Ibu like candy.......:D

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

You should have been looking a few months ago Robert, I scooped one up only a few hours from you from Gibbles and took her up to Canada.

Glen,
I know, i just saw that posting like 4 days ago... That was less than 350 miles from
my house here... Now everything I am finding...is (COUGH COUGH) East of Iowa or
at the very least minimum 1600 miles one way.

Missed a 22' V5 Holiday this afternoon in Columbus ohio...for $850 with a Running 1980 Johnson 175 on her.

So i got the # of the buyer... it needs new floors transom..the normal stuff... .Buyer says Ya I paid $850
and i will sell it too you... for $3000 ... and He buys it on a whim...I have never owned a boat before
but I am gonna do this one... .Sheeshh... I would have made the 1900 Mile trip each way for that one.

either way.. U scored a Great V5 in my back yard Glen... Shame on You!

I broke down ....craigslist is just toooo much fun!!! put in duck boat and a nice little classic boat popped up, you don't see much, that was made in the 60's...its a herters Goose-Duck model..... it was cheap...but it pales in comparison to the big Holiday I got ....but still happy.

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Should have bought it at $400.

Depending on the model & how much 'remodeling' the past owners have made to it, and it's condition, $1250 on a rolling vintage trailer (also depending on condition) is not really out of line for a 1957 Feather Craft. Particularly if it's an early 'mini' under 13ft in length.

Bob: It certainly shouldn't be 'converted' into a duck hunting skiff, IMHO. Sorry Bob. Used w/ no significant changes, sure.

Cool: There wasn't any bong involved, as noted above, $1250 isn't really out of line.
JB I had actually saved a photo from that ad, but forgot about it...found it this morning...here is a pix of that boat from the NJ tag sale I saw..

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

GameonSalmon - I'm from Dryden Ontario - ran across someone selling what I think is a '70s Supersport, outboard model - about 18 feet long - running but in fairly shabby shape - not what I'm looking for so I did't take a close look at it. If you are interested, send me a pm with pics of the boat you are looking for - if it seems to be the same boat, I'll put you in touch with the sellers.

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

I'm looking for a '22 to '25 foot Chieftain (and preferably a 25' - I want to be able to sleep 6), with a trailer, for a restoration project, preferably in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Manitoba or Northern Ontario, for a restoration project. Don't care if it is running or not, because I'll be looking for a donor boat to put a nearly new motor in. Let me know if you see anything. Thanks!

I'd think if you could get some better pics and you get a good feeling from the guy, $1800 is probably not a huge gamble....but it's not an SS...LOL

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

luv them wheel skirts on the Holiday trailer...trailer needs a finned Lone Star or some such

that Islander looks to have been used hard and put up wet with salt water. i'd sure check THAt one closely for cracks, galvanic corrosion, etc.

DJ... LMAO, beggars can't be choosers, however i have seen a couple of really good Holiday to SS conversion threads
and I own a Sawzall, a chainsaw and Jigsaw...One of them ought to work for a conversion.
HA!

I slightly revise my earlier statement that $1250 isn't out of line....

No trailer, no motor, & no bow handle, NOT nearly $1250. BUT to an FC fan it might be worth more then most would pay, esp if it's a mini (12-14ft). Except for the bow handle, it doesn't look hacked to pieces or beat up... And still don't think it should be heavily modified.

BTW: Nice new duck boat. Much better choice, IMHO, even if glass instead of tin........
