TCM, the internals on that unit might be WWII vintage but the case looks mil-spec compared to the flimsiness we see now

y'all be nice to EZ......i'm with him, the Xryzler is a pretty cool looking motor. and given all the well known chronic "issues" old OMCs and Mercs have, i don't reckon anyone with one of those is in a position to sneer. yeah, parts are harder to find but the actual engineering is not bad from what i've seen so far. hey, if it's cheap power, run it!

i love that big'un in PHX, even with the no doubt functional but pretty friggin weird lookin "radar arch". just about $8K out of my price range.

This is a twin sister of mine, although mine had a V6 omc in it. My nameplate actually says Holiday V221

( twin to the boat in post 5789 )

I see many 22 ft islanders listed...but was there ever really a 22 footer ISLANDER? I took the cap off mine and measure it direction. and it is 21' 5". I am thinking the real 22 footers like the mariners and holidays were at least 22 feet over all ( when I measured the caps were not on the transom...which might add almost an inch) it is that people just call their boat a 22 footer?bob

manufacturers' designation of boats as a certain size is frequently euphemistic, or maybe a "term of art". very few are exactly the size the Mfgr calls em. for example, the 18' holiday and Starchief hulls are actually 18'4". this is why all cover manufacturers tell you to measure the boat before ordering.
