uh, none of use with a cabin boat has too much room to sneer.......the difference between the cabin on a Starchief and a camper shell is.......a streamlined windshield. even has sliding side windows.

I think that fella stopped by here and showed us his boat but I don't recall who that was:confused:

Bad news guys.

A long time ago, when I was looking for a smaller boat (pre Jet Star) I found this laying in a yard...

...along with mountains of garbage all over the place (including about 10 boats). I stopped and asked how much and if memory serves me he wanted like $500 I think. I drive by it all the time and the thing hasn't moved in years. With the snow melting out I was recently thinking I'd stop by again and say hello just to see what his plans for the boat were.

So today, I'm driving home and I notice a few front end loaders sitting at his house along with a gigantic red dumpster. His yard is all cleaned up. Yup, looks like the township got tired of his blight. I pulled in and walked around looking to see if the little Starcraft was still there. Nope, gone, along with all the other stuff (seriously mountains worth).

The old man came out and I asked about the boat. He says "Huh, they must have taken that too." Turns around and walks back inside. That was that.

Looks like a Starcraft went to the scrapper (or maybe just thrown out). There were at least two other big boats that got hauled out too. One looked like 18' and the other 22', both alum.

Man they hauled a lot of carp out of that old fellas yard. Milling machines, tractors, tanks, batteries, you name it, it was there. Even a decent looking BMW got hauled away.

There are about 6 glass boats left on the other side of the yard. I think they will be back tomorrow for those.

Sorry guys, I kinda feel like I let the team down. :(

MBS is only a few short steps from MJS: Mounds o' Junk Syndrome.......

The wife doesn't use it, but I 'freecycle' as much as I can, both ways. It's too bad it got to that point really, happens a lot around here. Takes forever for the city to get involved, & by then, it's always too late for 99.99999% of the stuff. And down to the wire at the deadline. Usually not much family involvement until then either. He could have used a good fella checking in once in a while. But curmudgeons don't often foster aid from strangers.....

A trade school could have made good use of a bunch of that 'stuff' that ended up at the dump, probably not even the scrap metal place. After long enough the glassers would be tough to save, but maybe the tin could have been saved. Bummer on all counts:(

Unfortunate

Nah, stuff happens. If we all had 13 acres, a great big pole barn & a mule, we'd all be that guy, w/ 13 acres, a mule & a barn:)

Now there's a plan! He's already working on a caffine high & minimal sleep so...... How long was the Islander at the recycler before you saved her? Or 1 of the 2 glassers that perished? Probably got hauled off in the last 3-4 days. May still be unprocessed! Esp if the guy running the loader is a boat guy!:)

All may not yet be lost!
