Good point!

and the primer job looks nice and thick, I always lay down a good base coat too, to heck with the light dusting.

I agree even though they say just to sprinkle that primer on. I just lay down a good base and green scotch brite when dry.

coming late to the party but one of my favorite boat plans , one day i keep saying:)

Thanks for stopping by. All you gotta do is just get started... then do a little bit everyday. lol

Just finished reading through. That's going to be one awesome fishing boat.

I was very fortunate to get some tuna fishing time on a friends boat just about like this one. Those fishing trips certainly fired me up to get ' r ' done!

It's amazing that you have thousands of these boats built by mostly amature builders like myself with various degree of skill. I've never heard of a Tolman going down. Only one I know of came close in AK when they struck a buoy tin can and holed the boat. Lucky, they didn't die! The boat didn't sink though mostly due to a sealed crash chamber in the bow.

The cuddy, pilot house, and cabin hand rails are installed. The rocket launcher is on. I also installed the bow eye, but didn't take a picture of that.

I did get the trailer extension welded up, but not installed yet. The 10 gunwale rod holders are welded, but need to be cleaned up and painted.

I still need to move the axles backwards about 20 inches.

Hey that looks super nice! So is that a suspension seat you have at the helm? Those are some spendy items right there.

She's really coming together, CJ. :thumb:

Thank you!

That seat is a suspension seat with mixed bag of reviews. It came from my local tractor supply for $100. If it doesn't work out, I'll install it on my tractor. It seems to be a decent quality, but not sure how much suspension I'll get out of it. ha ha

I was going to use the cash from the Chieftain sale to purchase a used 2 stroke, but nobody wanted her. I talked the Admiral into taking some cash out of savings to purchase a particular motor on craigslist and it sold that night.... lol... had been on craigslist for over a month.

I'm waiting for another one to come on the market. Maybe I can talk her into just buying that new Suzuki 175 4s for $13,000

Ha Ha.... I know this guy..... he's doing a great restore on a starcraft super sport... I'm going to see if he'll build me some windows.

Sweet! She looks great!

Thanks Dave!

Love the Lime Sherbert color !! Looks great !!

I'm getting quite the mixed bag of reactions towards the paint color choice. I think my oldest would have it repainted before my autopsy was done. That's ok because I didn't choose that color for him. It's a pretty subtle green until the sun gets on it. One things for sure.... there won't be another like it on the Chesapeake Bay.

Thanks for stopping by guys. I'll try to get some more pictures up after the weekend.

I sure like what I see with the 4 Stroke Mercs and the Mercmonitor set up, super nice.

I have no problem with any Mercury. Especially, the new Etechs..... a little out of my price range though. There is a great site called Totem that sells some used Etechs pretty reasonable.

Well,,,, I have some great news.

I was able to locate a freshwater 2001 Yamaha 150TXRZ with 760 hours on it. I didn't get the controls or tach so I'll be searching for those things as well as new control cables. Between the 2001 Yamaha 9.9 HT and the 2001 150TXRZ, I have $4000 into my motors.

I'll need 4 new control cables, one 730 control box (10 Pin), and a multifunction gauge.... around $600

Since you found a Yammie instead of the new Zuke, I can tell your Admiral doesn't respect me! I used to it.

I spit a little beer on my laptop with that one GA... I should be able to get quite a few seasons out of the Yammie though.... and, it's a pretty simple motor with carbs that I can work on. :)

Premature splash tonight GA. I tried to move the axles back on the trailer tonight, but was just a pain with the boat on the trailer. So,,,,

It was a breeze moving the axle back with the trailer empty. I feel better about mounting the motors now and will start on that Saturday.

SPLASH!

Mini splash, CJ? She floats, always a good sign. She looks good on the water!

So now I'm waiting for a wake. You can't please me. LOL
