Hey Sam, good to hear things may work out. I admire your patience. However, my patience is wearing thin. I want pics. Lol. Kidding. Good luck.

Hey Sam, don't u rest? :D

looks like Manatee used a front platform, and side gutter system to stiffen the hull, this is an older 15.

maybe u could work something similar back in yours....make a great crabbing rig

I have a 1980 Custom Craft with 50hp Johnson that looks a lot like this hull. Mine's not center console, two small stations on the side with steering and controls o right (starboard).

OK not much to show but you can see here the OP I'm starting with and what I am getting so far ... I hit the side part with some cheap compound and polish I picked up at wally world .. Still some OP showing but good enough to live with ..

Gunna get as far as I can with the sanding then get pretty aggressive with the the compound ... Polish /wax .. Then let the hair go with the hide... ;)
It's not gunna be perfect by any means but I don't think it will stop me from catching dinner every now and then ..
Got to get the trailer in shape also .. Solid axle and I think the springs will clean up good enough .. The 2 rear cross supports are a little bent . I will beef them up with some galv angle I have ..Prolly put a new set of bearings in and I have some new rims and tires to install and call it good ..

Welcome aboard ! Nice rig you have ... What is the length and how well does the 50 hp push it .. Just wondering what hp I'm gunna go with ... I do have a 50 I can use if I don't upgrade when the time comes ...

Decker, I don't know about that. Some fish see a boat they like and bite just to get a ride in it. :pound:

These early sunsets are really putting a damper on getting things done after work ... :blue:
Btw , I tried the talcum powder trick ... Well actually baby powder cuzz I didn't have any just talc .... It does seem to help with gumming to a degree ...
But it did make the boat smell baby fresh and left my hands nice and soft !
Have a great week everyone !

70lb trolling motor? As the primary motor? Sure :)

How much wake do you like to throw out while you troll?

If you dont mind buying a 2nd battery that you dont need if it proves to be more then you wanted, $100 sounds like a deal it if runs.... guess you could sell it if its not a good fit....

Ya don't have to run it wide open...I don't think :noidea:. Even with buying another batt, you are still way cheaper than a new one.

Sounds like a good deal if it runs.. 24 volt gives better performance than 12 volt and the batteries last longer..
