Piece, just read thru the thread for the first time, great job so far:)

Does your have a livewell under the helm seat box? Ours did, just curious.

I've now acquired a 16' Starcraft project rig that is almost identical to your boat. My stringers are lengthwise rather than across is a major disparity though.

Trim/tilt will help greatly with the performance of the Evinrude. Mine came with a CMC bracket w/ hydraulic TNT and I love it. They are pricey, but you can get one that mounts on your OB cheaper I believe.

Ezmobee may be able to help clarify that for you, he knows his johnnyrudes well.

I appreciate the reply Huron! I keep hearing that these Sea Nymphs are pretty good lil crafts so I am looking forward to getting her wet!

Mine does have the livewell under the helm seat... one of the factory options that I'm keeping! It was a nice surprise when I first got the boat to find it there... Im gonna need new pumps and such and some new plumbing but looking forward to putting my first fish in there... maybe even a place to hold a cold one on a hot day ;)

I have been goin back and forth with the trim/tilt and looked at the CMC ones. The only thing stoppin me is the price. I want to make sure its a wise investment with my motor only being 50hp as compared to your 90hp. I just may have to give ezmobee a shout out on this one!

I read through your thread and it looks like you are trucking right along!! Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to see the finished project! We all cant wait for the big SPLASH!!! Thanks again!

On the power trim...if you can find a decent used OEM unit I'd go for it. As for the Panter or CMC units, I know they are nice but they cost a friggin' fortune. The good news if you ever upgrade your motor you can sell the trim unit for close to what you paid for it. However, I don't know if it would be worth the initial investment for a 50HP. For the heavy-as-heck 85 I had that I wanted to add it to....it would have been sweet.

So it looks like I'll be looking for a OEM unit, I'd like to get all I can from the motor since it is only 50hp thats why I was leaning towards a power trim. And you aren't lyin bout the Panter and CMC units costin a FORTUNE! Thanks for the response ezmobee much appreciated!

Ezmobee I had one quick question for ya... I am finding trim and tilt motors all over the place but I'm guessing the units are more than a bracket and a motor? I guess what I'm asking is can one be pieced together or is it better to just go ahead a buy a complete one?

Hmmm well the larger motors use two rams. Yours may only have one. You could maybe piece it together. It would be better to find a complete unit including any needed wiring/solenoids/etc.

One last question for you EZ... I am surfing around on ebay for some and have come across many different Evinrude types with range of years/ two wire or three wire, etc. If I do find one that will fit my motor what type of things do I want to look at to make sure its a good unit? Any info would be appreciated.. I can't thank you enough for your help!

I can't help you too much with that. My knowledge is pretty well limited to the older V4's as that what I had that was trying to outfit with TnT. The guys in the J/E repair forum could help you better, especially Tashasdaddy as I think he's had a whole bunch of 50s. I would be most concerned with getting all the parts. If it needs some repair you can find people to do that. The ram(s) and motor are repairable/rebuildable. And as you can imagine, you can do a heck of a lot of work to it for the price of a CMC!

And it has begun!!!!! Over the weekend the painter was able to prep the boat, get her primed, put on a primer sealer, and get a base of white down..... THEN also tape off the bottom and shoot it with clear so it can be flipped back on the trailer to airbrush the graphics on the sides. All the products being used are House of Kolor. The graphics on the side will be airbrushed with pearl colors. It should look amazing!

With House of Kolor paints if you use their products for every part you are able to summit the project for a prestigious artist of the year award. The painter has a more detailed pic log for summission which I will post when it is complete.

The motor is being matched to the boat paint scheme as well!

He is what is completed thus far... more to come soon! ENJOY!!

I almost forgot!!! Here is the graphic that we are basing our paint scheme on. It is a vinyl wrap that mastercraft offers for x series of boats... of course mine will say Sea Nymph SS155custom instead of mastercraft with detail changes here and there but this is the overall look! Hope everyone likes... I know I do! Retail on the wrap is about $5,000!?! I was able to buy all the custom paint for far far less.. only $1,100

If you're doing it for yourself and like it, then go ahead with the graphic. It wouldn't add, and might actually reduce the value of the boat if you ever decide to resell it though.

I appreciate the advice erik... This boat has kinda been in the family and I plan on keeping it that way. I don't plan on selling it for a long time if ever. Im sure Ill never get a price for her for what i think she is worth... so she is stuck with me... or I with her ;) Hope you enjoy the thread

Starting the face... painter wanted to lay down a rough sketch to get a feel for how it... He airbrushed both sides and we compared and decided on certain elements in both that we liked... i believe he now has an idea where he wants to go with it. I go back out tues to look, hopefully he is able to get to it, its a nasty mess out there right now been snowing all day!

Alright... the painter was not happy with the faces that he started on soooo what does he do... He re-shot white base over them and draws this... He still has the shading in the face to do to make it look like the lips. This is amazing work... I'm loving it!! Hope yall enjoy!
