So the thickened pb worked out pretty nice. I did set the 2" conduite and still need to seal it up better. No pics cause looks just like the last pics.Going to start working next on seeting the tank.
I talked to US comp. today and they appear to be open with shipping 1 day a week.

I was wondering about USC, I filled out an order sheet last night and the website said they would be delivering in a day or two.

Fairly productive day. No rain, high temps. Set some neoprene in the coffin for the tank. Was a pia. Tank in and out, in and out.....Used rubber adhesive to keep the strips in place. Just so so adhesion.
Kinda pissed me off making my awesome coffin yeller with the contact spray. Chilled out. Tank in. tank out.
Drilled out for fuel and vent lines.
Decided my wifes dog will be my first fishing trip bait. Moving forward......

Thinking I want a removable lid for the ole' tank but just don't really see any methods for keeping the water out. I think the best method is to have the lid raised above the deck@ 1.5" but the deck is small and all I see is people tripping over it. May just end up sealing the tank complete under the deck and rip it out later when it fails. Was trying to prevent the rip out ohhh my says I.

Nice Fit!!! I'd seal the coffin. Cutting out the deck and replacing it is NOT that hard to do. But, If you take as much care maintaining her as you have restoring her, I seriously doubt you'll have the need to pop the top.!!!;):D

Thanks Mike...that turned my decision. Gonna lock up the tank and if/when you're right not a biggy to pop it out. Generally cleaning up the boat today, Sealing up the drill holes and diddlin with some wood.

What did the dog do to become bait status? 🐶 Chew up your favorite flip flops ?
Like the idea of closing tank coffin also .. maybe a water proof inspection hatch added ?

No he's just a yapper...he's alright sometimes. Definitely have access hatches. Too funny when I got into this way back before the wheel was invented I had intended to reuse the old tank cover and installed 2 hatches. Still looking at them when I go back to the boat. Time to order a couple more. I believe one of the major design flaws/issues with this boat from the mfg were the hatches. Just not water tight.
I was thinking/hoping using him for tuna...anything can happen.;)

Got back to it before work today. PB'ed all the drillins out. Stubbed in a little more rubber stripping for the fuel tank. Also painted the bilge another time. Put some heat lamps on it and within 1 hr. tacked out. Trying to beat the potential rain.

Spent a couple of hrs this morning when I got home from work. The weather here is supposed to be 80's thru the weekend. So trying to get it while I can.
I started to template out the sole/deck. I used cardboard to fit and gorilla tape as well as the left over contact cement to bind up the cardboard. I really would like the deck in before the winter gets here. That will let me hang the ob and start my rewire.
It's going to get a little tricky setting back the components I saved. 1 livewell, 2 side wells and the existing transom component. Wondering if I should run water to the livewell or just bucket it in. 9-20-17 1 deck.jpg

I would recommend running water to your livewell. You will have a hard time keeping fish alive without regular additions of fresh water. If you eat the fish you keep, a suitable alternative would be to insulate it an use it as an ice box to put fish on. Having a drain would still be very beneficial.

Yea.... poop I agree. Now is the time to do it. Poop poop...might as well. So with that new now on the table I started fitting in the bait/fish well/ jacuzzi thingy in mind.
I have this ridgid multi tool/buzz buzz thingy/ocillator. It is worth it's weight in gold.
Electric being the key word not battery. Had to make some mods on the well and the deck glass. Takes a little longer but man no grinder dust up my....
Pretty happy with the fit and where it's going.

Got a pc in, fitted the fishwell/jacuzzi and moving along. Still have bits and pcs. to do before all the floor goes down but is nice to see it.

So anyway diddled on the underfloor water piping and electrical. Drilled my arse off. Also went and seld up front sole deck on top and filled out with platic putty. Really like it. Not cheap. But you can keep it alive because it has a acetone base. Hence dries very fast and let's you get busy.
Sealed all the drill outs and set some guides in place.
