So I played with getting the last section of wood deck/fitted in yesterday. Lots of belt sanding for the fit. So I had to wet out again the exposed ply. That today and then added some 1700 to the underside of the battery hatch. After that I went over some areas with hairy pb for leveling.
Going to try and set the battery hatch tom. if me wifey is nice. Still need to shop and prep dinner for tom. We'll see. It is nice to walk on deck.
Heater kickin.

Well ha ha splash well....and gunnels...…….
So the gunnel deck tops are a little askew and I began squaring them up. Little dis, little dat. The splash well is installed and I've come to the conclusion to run the deck full stride/level to the transom.
Hosing off should be a breeze.
Originally the 2 self bailing drains were concealed behind the port/starboard partitions and were at deck level. They were totally inaccessible for service/repair. I want them out of there and onto the main deck for service. If I put them back in at the current splash well height then they will be 3" lower then the deck. My concern is they could end up below the water line.

I've read so many nightmares about self bailing drains like when take on like 2 mickyryan on the boat the transom drops like 6" below the water line and created havoc.
This approach makes sense and when mickyryan , zool or any of the utter good guys show up it won't be a problem.
Just dinkin out loud.

so the self draining holes , mine are right at water level and yeah they might let a bit of water in but i have never seen them allow water onto deck that's 3" higher mine are at waterline but my deck is 3" higher then waterline so it isnt a problem and they have scupper flaps that limit back flow i think you would be fine with that same arrangement but i dont know where your water level is in relation to deck

if your boat drops 6" with 2 people there is a bigger problem, my boat don't even recognise 1 or 2 extra people on the waterline. unless stood in a back corner huddled or on top of each other :) so when that kinda action happens keep er center on the boat and shouldn't be a problem :) that's why there is padding on the doghouse top :)

Well considering they were at deck level originally, but in a inaccessible area is why I will build up the splash well level to deck. I like the idea of flush deck front to back. That will let me place at height they were and not have to wait till I hit the water to figure out the water line.
Thanks mickyryan

been chopping and refiguring the transom mold and liner. Working out pretty good. 1 side gunnel is leveled up, working the other. Moving along.

So some progress. Got the flush deck area cut out behind the battery deck. Liking it! Will need to fit it nice and square then allow for pitch back to the scuppers. Next to order scuppers.
Now I have to rehook the electric dog fence. Wife is tired of looking for them every five minutes. Works good and keeps them in the yard.
Made a cardboard template. Oh yea got the gunnels leveled back to correct heights.
