Nice. It's funny watching people and seeing how they react. They get combative over posting opposing views to the point of insanity. Reminds me of some forums I'm on. ;)

Hi Kevin, decided to stop in in my time off from my project to check on your progress and to be honest it looks awesome. I like the pilot house you build and all the craftsmen ship and paying attention to the details. I wish I would have so much patience with my project. Just between you and me I hate painting.

Jerzy,
Really nice of you to say and I envy your downeaster. That motor sounded great! I like the painting over the gelcoat.
I don't think I have the patience or $$ for it. What did you end of doing on that beautiful finished keel? That wood was so sweet. Almost wanted to say to leave it alone it was so pretty. Keep on posting my friend!

hanging near 96 deg today so slow moving outside. Put the last coat of varnish on the console platform. It's in the car drying so no pics yet of that.
Next I prepped and painted some more yellow. This time I used less thinner and it coated pretty well in 2 coats vs. prior 5.
The hatch goes over the opening.

Decent day, high temps haha. My moulding came in for my electrical. It will be raised but conceals the wiring. I am able to paint it to match the interior. It will allow me to run wiring under the gauge console deck to either side, then I can pull up to underside of roof and distribute anything I need for roof top fixtures. The front opens on the chase so fishing will be simple with the chases.
Made some mods to it so it could work out. Happy with the effort.
Also temp set false gauge console deck. Set hatch in for looks and figuring. I need to grab gaskets for that to make a nice seal.

Now I can start to build a gauge console.

Not much on my end today. I had to ATTEND to the overweeded gardens out front so we look like people live here.
Boats....ohhh boats. Is their a recovery center for them?

If you find one let me know... just dropped another wad on an alternator... guessing that brings me up to like 8G on this restoration, but stopped counting after it gave me anxiety.

Trying to adjust to my new 1st shift schedule and my freakin surgery. Man full 8's seem to suck my energy out and I'm off the pain pills...I miss them too!
So anyhow I found the perfect spost for my switch panel. I made a template with some hot glue and sticks. I have enough veneer left to do this spot as well as some other areas I'm anticipating. Restart this weekend on that and misc.
In addition I want to figure out how to make some templates for the windows. Grab some test acrylic and see how I work with it and make an install prerun. My rads aren't exact.

Your fabrication skills are always inspiring. I always look forward to your updates. Heart Rehab is taking most of my time and energy. Been doing a little shop work but nothing on the boat. Hope your health is doing well.
