Held up by a golf cart restoration and a dumpster fill up ... And a tin roof temp storage building project that got put off ..
Sprinkle in a lot of old Merc parts search on the web stuff ... = no fun resto stuff happening ...

Yea I ear ya Sam. Today was some cutting, sanding then wetting out all the areas I exposed. Still using the "thick" epoxy.
I think next week time to place an order for thin and some more 1700 glass. I still have enough scraps to move forward but
I do not want the thick EEEpppOOOxxxyyy for this.

Coffee is the staff of life... keeps me from killing people... Grinding sucks... Boats rule. Loving the hard top job. Much better looking than my aluminum job with lexan..

Alright then, Boys the postings are getting pretty lame and sparse guys. So lets get on the stick. Ya?
Well this is a lame post but I was very surprised it worked.
I went to hdeblow 2 weeks to grab a small mixing blade for my drill/pb. Nope out of stock. Went back a again yesterday and nope. Talked to the NEW guy and asked wheres the small mixing paint blades.
Oh we stopped bringing them in for 1 gal mix only the 5 gal mix blades.
REALLY???????????????????????????????
They suck in a qt container I said. OH well.

Well this is where it gets simple stupid.
I read along..........time ago about a guy who recommended using a fork to make the pb mix. Ha ha...
So I pulled out a metal fork and cut it but it was too short. I also pulled out some plastic black forks and twisted them and they did not snap.
So put this together... I am stuck for now using THICK eeepppoooxxy. So I made the blend and could not believe the fork held up. Then added tons of cabosil.......I said TONS whereas the cabosil/pb could be used on inverted upside down applications.
Done....like I said...lame but "Oh MY".
Worked damn great.
Go figga black flexible plastic fork that fit fit into my drill, no mods............................................. .

I have a 1/8 welding rod (I think) that I hammered a little flat on the end, bent a 90 on it, chucked it up and wrapped Chuck in electrical tape to keep resin out. Been in there for the whole build. When it gets loaded up in resin I beat it clean with a hammer then beat straight.

Now that is cool and useful!

We have 60's here today. Maybe some rain. Sanding nibs and spots of interior of cabin. Glue showed up, weather nice so I'm going to start some overhead glassing in cabin.

Enjoy that weather. We have low 30's, high winds to 50mph and snow grrrrr

Well that was a total wash and wasted some glue and A 30X30 pc of glass. It kept wanting to become my hat. Walk away research. I don't really want to do a million little strips.
Found trick...spray with 3m77.....dope!

Yup, plastic is good. Little thick mil stuff, not saran wrap. Put it over a ridged board/ply.

So not a total loss of a day and materials. In the first approach to do the underside of the roof with 2 attempts I left the partially wetted out glass outside in 60 deg weather.
Used the reset of the mix and wetted out all the interior ply.
Took a break.................
Went back and was able to use both pcs. of glass for vertical cabin wall glass. At the end of the day I've determined although inconvienant I will use 12" squares of glass for the overhead glassing and will be more manageable.
