Raking the leaves, branches, dirt for my sleepy time tonight...…….growl.

Growled into the gelcoat today with the grinder and PPE. Used 40 grit wheel on the grinder made for corners. Really worked well but dang it sucked with the dust. I was full cover and kinda had the vav. following.
Wish it was summer so I could open up the whole boat.
Totally hate gelcoat. :faint2:

Very nice here today. Mid 50's kinda like summer. That let me open up the boat cover. It has zippers on 2 sides. Put in a fan, full suit and mask. Yea....grinding my arse off. Still not a nice thing. Other words get cancelled for the G rated movie.
I'll post pics when mickyryan does.

It is crazy here to. I had the air on last night it was hot in the house. I got the door open now to cool it off. And it was 15 degrees a couple weeks ago. If this weather now was when the 15 was. I could have not winterized and went out a few more times.

For a good grinding job it requires the temps to be at 90 deg or more inclosed with full tyvek suit ..:D
Looking good Kc ! To reach grinding Zen you must become “one” with the grinder ...

Looking solid man!
I've been radio silent cuz my butt has been parked in front of the fireplace! haha jk... It is nice tho, I'm still waiting for the propane company to deliver the tank, but I've been running it from a 20lb grill tank for now haha.

Now that the Christmas gifts are over and done, I think its high time I get my butt back on the boat... I'll have to dig though the archives to find my thread lol

Well done! Every year at this time I says.... Gee why didn't I install a little pot belly to take off the chill and to watch the wood burn.

Ha ha...….Weirdo week schedule for 3rd shift. Holidays are always an impact.
I don't have to go in tonight but yup tom. So I decided to do some light grinding with the multi tool and review other areas.
50 ish temps here with who knows when rain. So heat came on nicely.
Thinkin I may add a little wood to the starboard/port existing window openings. So that will let me have a stationary window and eventually a couple of sliders behind that.
I have researched windows and pricing and they look like 2G plus as is. So Then I've also researched for the longest time windows with gaskets.
Something like this....Out of euorpe/Uk.
https://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/shopping.asp?intDepartmentId=4
or if it gets deleted;
seals direct
Cannot find anything in US for 1/2" ply+ glass base and 3/8" glass or plastic window.
HappY New Year!

We'll see. Of course pics wont stick lol.

I modified the window for looks and options/opinions. This gives me a solid panel and the rear will eventually be sliders. For now all will be stationary in regards to costs.
I like it myself so the mods keep going on.
Im showing starboard with the option window and port as is.
Flurries here this morning and 30's. Back to 80's in a beer.
Cheers! And happy new year.
Lets see if pics stick.

Did some small ply fit outs like above. Hand sanding to get off the burly woods. Next to get them wet out, fir them then get this whole area finaled with filets. Actually in regards to the total rewet their will be more sanding.
After that finally some glass for the interior.

moving along man! i like the vent window design and you know , you keep them side windows square and you could make electric windows that rolled down ! using automotive window motors... just a thought :)

Yea I was thinking of a glass roof, retractable of course.
They do make boats with retractable windows. Its a novel idea but wont be in my budget. Most of all, my install would be broke before I pulled away from the dock.

Yesterday I added some ply pcs. so I can make dimensions quasi equal. At least to the eye. Wetted out the related edges that contact existing edges. Used plastic trash bag pcs. behind screws and wood backers to make a clean break when removed and easier for sanding.
Me dinks well their will be alot more steps to prep prior to glassing. So bes it.
Their is a phrase people use..."It is what it is" The actual phrase is..."It is what you make it."

Temps @ 30-40 here this morning. All the pb set up well with the heater yesterday and today sitting at 80.
Started cutting out the rads and making the pcs. look eaqual per both sides of the boat in regards to the windows. I really do blow at this stuff. Im ok with what I have but will continue to mod. so looks and meas. make sense.
I mean I really do blow making the radiuses. The EEEEppppoooxxxyyy/pb held up like a champ as usual.
