Just an observation .. Dont they usually have the front of the cabin leaning towards the bow ? Basically something close to the angle of the back ?

That way you can mount your radio's and such above your head and hopefully not knock yourself out on them while getting tossed about .. :noidea:

have a question for all the GURU's. So a lot of ply for sides of new wheelhouse rests upon the existing boat lines/surface.
Should I also make a gap etc. so there is no hard contact at this point of build?

I dont see a reason to leave a gap if your going to permanently attach it to the hull, however, i wonder if it would any sense to build it like a removable piece like a hull cap or even like a hardtop on an old bronco or something...

I may be doing the roof on the ground today then lift it. The rest is already fitted to boat. I fighting nature and trying to get the structure in place so I can at least wet it out.

I think you would be ok doing it either way Kc .. You don’t really have the weight of the boat banging down at that connection like you would with a stringer beating against the water .. I would at least wet out the edges of the plywood real good with your eeeeeepoxy before you permanently attach it ...

So I am a plumber and my tool of choice is the SAWZALL. After years of handling that tool I am sooo comfortable about using it. Plus I'm a carpenter butch.
Today I got the wood for the roof. Added some "Camber" for the roof. @ 1/2:" from center for a 4'-5' spread. Camber is a sweep from 0 to !/2" in my case whereas the roof I'm installing has pitch and adds a curve to the final look. I mostly caught this info on downeast boat forums and like the look vs. a flat roof.
I used a 1/4" per foot. Placed the ply and fitted. All very rough and will begin some trim over the next few days. I'm losing temps to glass the exterior but at least the roof and side are in.

Boy posting pics here is just a freaking nightmare! Oh well......……...……..

I downloaded a free Photoshop editor (PS Express) that lets me restore my pics to a smaller size. I think it’s like 400x600 but that allows me to uploaded into my replies. Otherwise I get the “too big” error
