One of my favorite standup bits is Bill Cosby talking about going to the dentist... pre-rufi news obviously lol

Started some prelim on the cap. Rough but the concept is coming together. 1 man show so this is the flow. Running the ply on a 1.5" contour for the start. So here we go.
On the crappiest note and real depressed poop I need to put my best friend down Toby. 14 years young. Miserable. Just miserable. I sat with him on the lawn most afternoon with the memories just flowing from pup to man/family buddy.
My Toby the King!

So sorry to hear about Toby - you're not alone on that kinda thing

Your progress is inspiring! Is there a sketch or something showing how you envision she'll look when "done"?

Yep, BC had some great bits - one of the first albums I remember we had in the house in those days

So sorry to hear Kev. Been there, done that, feel your pain for sure. Be sure to give the lad a good burial and raise a glass to his memory!

Tx Garbs,
No real sketch a lot of visuals I been saving from other builds. Something along these lines...

This boat in the pic is a 22' General Marine. I think I'll only be able to get 2 windows on mine though. Very basic
design.

Kinda reminds me of a C-Dory. I first heard about them from a book I read by William Least Heat Moon called river horse... Its a great book and highly recommend it. He traverses the US by boat by taking the least amount of portages possible. Starts in New York harbor and ends in the Pacific in Astoria, OR.

I dont! I cheat and listen to audiobooks lol...

Soft sand isn't down on the boat yet... all I did was a test patch on my little test panel I made. Seems good tho, just found out the paint definitely needs some thinner tho... tried rolling some over that wasnt thinned and it didnt work so great. So, glad I tried it out first so now I know... overall tho I really like the feel of it... even with the paint over it, it still has a nice soft feeling to it...

I started with the rough framing and ply for the cabin. Went with 1/2" bc and various other woods. Coming along ok and very fortunate to have this weather.
I am not a carpenter so the look is ROUGH and that's the way it is. Glass and pb are very forgiving.
Still need to add a chamfer for the ruuf. The roof will prob be 3/4"
Buried my little bestman Tobyson in our yard today, so he's keeping an eye on me all the time.
Pics for review.

Went with a headroom of 6'4" which is actually less than the frame that was removed. Slight angle on fron windahield of @ 17 degrees with a push out of @ 1". Soft and not too hard on the eyes. Not a racing/ski boat look anymore. Says I!!!

I would make that windshield of something more see through-ish if it was mine, but it's your boat...
