CA would be a bit of a trip for me, lol. Does the machine that’s pictured have a servo? It looks like a constant speed motor /clutch Machine.

Not a servo. First thing I did was replace with a servo motor.

Ha ha. I appreciate any advice. I built both snap on mooring covers out of Sunbrella with a small Singer machine. It didn’t take me long to figure out this machine was way under powered for this job. I finished them and they turned out great, but it was a very difficult fabrication. Having the right tools matter. How much did it cost to convert to the servo? I just found out the machine I’m looking at on FB has a clutch motor. The seller lowered the price from $1100 to $950.

A servo motor is about $125 and the swap-out is fairly easy. I swapped mine out and then added a larger pulley on the machine to slow the machine even more. It also provides more torque for punching through multiple layers of fabric/vinyl

Keep in mind that power of the machine is one thing, but the important aspects are in how the machine feeds the material. Not only 'walking foot', but 'compound feed' (aka 'needle feed') is what you want. Adjustable stitch length and reverse round out the features.

Servo motors are cheap. I may buy another one that includes a positioner that allows you to tap the pedal and it moves the needle up out of the way or all the way down instead of having to use the handwheel.

Now that the weather has gotten cold(er), I am mostly doing the IT Consulting and the Marine Upholstery work. . . . Working on my house exterior is pretty much on hold. I did install a new basement bulkhead on Monday.

I picked up the seating of a Chris Craft the other day . . . Some fairly large pieces . . . barely fit downstairs into 'the shop'.

This 'wrap-around' piece is interesting. . . . it serves as the backrest for the entire aft seating (port, stern, and starboard). Kind of awkward to handle .

I've started in on taking apart the the base pieces . . . The material should arrive next week.

Fortunately, the basement is large enough to have the seats in one part and the sewing table in another part.

Ever think about making a custom table with laminate on top of it so it matches the height of your sewing machine table?

I don't see a light on your sewing machine. I have one of these and it's awesom especially when threading the needle.

I am still getting things set up so the portable tables are just to get me by for a while. I do need a light, as I did have one when I was doing the seats last year. Not sure it made the trip from my summer house to home base

My plan is to spend money on the shop as I make profits from the jobs. . . . don't want to get ahead of myself in that regard $$$$ . . .

My project Du Jour was making this rack for the rolls of vinyl. I have a 50 lb. roll of vinyl coming in a few days. Still got to get a few more pipe rods for the heavier rolls.

Yes, I could do that . . . next time at HF I'll get some. Probably will need to add a couple more members to the frame at the base to keep it square.

Just re-upholstered a boat bucket seat . . . first time doing one of this type. It took a while as there are 4 separate pieces to it and the main piece has lots of contours. This is for a Chris-Craft Corsair 28.

look at the Morbern Hexx line. The Hexx ivory and Hexx carbon make a great contrast.

Thanks, was just wondering about the question. Most folks doing enclosures need the boat so they can custom fit it, or at least the ones I've dealt with

No, basically it was either white or black and Chap talked about Reg and Lexan but had no images of how it looked. I reached out to a guy who had done work for me before but he's moved further away. Not a deal breaker but would like to get something more in Blue and maybe some other custom ideas
