Vegas, GREAT looking boat! :D I love the woodish grain on the front! Great job on the photoshoping too, it does look like a model boat, but still looks great. I like it. One question for ya, what camera do you use? I've got a Canon Rebel XSI that I really enjoy taking pictures with.

I took it with a RebelXTI and a 10-20mm canon lens (its a cam I wouldnt be as upset to lose or get ruined at the lake vs my 5D)...the cameras I use professionally are the Canon 5D and 40D

Hey Vegas, if you can remove my mother in law like you did to your brother in law I would gladly pay you.:eek::eek::eek:

Hey Vert you got it! send e the file and consider her ELIMINATED lol

Hey it was great meeting the two of you guys and the Sleek turned out GREAT!!! Perhaps we will see you out there again....

Hi Carl! (or Karl) Hey man it was good meeting you too! rock on! hope to see you and your pals out there in that eliminator (I believe) we should be out there friday and sat fourth of july weekend! Party on! :p

VIDEO OF US FLYING BY at the beach click to watch

this past weekend at the lake,...flyby vid of the sleekcraft cruising by and some dusk run shots etc....we took a eveing run on smooth water to Hoover dam and hung out there...that was relaxing...seen some cool shooting stars....then cruised about the lake at night at high speed....did some blabbing and bobbing....etc it was a great day on the water

we replaced the rubber fuel line to the carb with a metal one yesterday before we went off to the lake.....no leaks! yea!!!

towed our first "victims" back to the dock (about a 5 mile tow...it was a struggle to go so slow!!!!!!!) they might have broken thier output shaft or something real bac...no one was home when enginie running and shifting into gear....

hey check out this youtube video of these INSANE river boat guys riunning whitewater in northern california...NUTS fast over skinny water...crazy!

Great pics Man!! Where'd you go to for the fireworks? Boulder City? That's usually a good show . . . Havasu on the water for us again this year.

and thats a 40ft eliminator "I believe" in the background...side hatch was cool!
It's also a Hallett . . . I LOVE the side hatch. May seem like a novelty to some, but where we boat (Mead and Havasu) beaching like that is very common. The big closed bows can be almost impossible to board from the beach, so that hatch solves it for those who don't like to get wet. And before you beat-up what typically are those of the fairer persuasion, remember we can boat on Thanksgiving day for example as we may have 80 degree air yet frigid water. We may go to an early breakfast and beach the boat to walk up to the restaurant. Very common and I don't want to get wet in that situation either . . .

Re: PROJECT ~ JEZABEL 23' Sleekcraft Executive ~ Turbo Restore ~ Tons of pics

WE REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE this boat, she rides SOOOOO much better over wakes and waves than our 17ft glastron from the past seasons....well Im gonna say it...bigger IS better! lol

I would say 27 would be the max I would wanna tow around and maneuver, so for now the 23 footer is perfect! I would highly recommend a sleekcraft executive to most anyone wanting to upgrade ...rides like a caddy ....... no slamming on wakes or waves unless they are HUGE...then its not even a slam more like a whump...

in REAL big waves we do get some spray in the face....the hull design doesnt have a lip to force the water down and out...instead it just goes out and up a little... and in heavy seas this weekend I submarined the nose one one wave when we were putting out leaving the beach .....heheh that was cool....

we have the windscreen, its a low 4 to 5 incher job that is reverse style where it leans fwd....we haven't installed it because it is great being able to get up and down the bow with out having it in the way...great place to sit and such too... either way we might install it and se how we like it for another weekend...

here's the headrests Im working on for installation at the back of the boat where the jump seats are...the currrent seats backrests only come up to the middle of your back and we decided it would be nice to lean back more comfortably..., what a pain to make 2 duplicate pyramids! I still have to assemble the other one, foam cover it and sew up the vinyl to fit both of em...
I was contemplating putting a handhold on the back of em so it would be easier to get in the boat from the swim platforms...but nixxed that idea...occasionally Uncle Dave comes out from pennsylvania..and when he grabs something it had BETTER be on REAL good...he's a 380 lb big wrestler style dude... I wonder if the swim platforms would hold up ? and the bow deck area? ok Uncle Dave... ya gotta slide on your buns! sorry dude! BTW I weigh 155 lbs and Miranda is about 115 lbs

BTW the jumpseats are the ultimate ride area...a small amount of spray from teh drive mists your back...the ride is super smooth all the way back there...and you can really kick back there...its nice!

the bottom board on eah headrest I installed blind nuts...I plan to bolt the headrests on from the inside of the boat seats from the underside

the raw headrest parts'

IMG_8824.jpg

after grinding with the flap disc, I used a nail-gun with headless brads and some wood-glue to assemble em
IMG_8825.jpg

raw foam spray glued on
IMG_8827.jpg

foam after grinding the edges round
IMG_8831.jpg

here's the new solar screen dealy whopper I made for out at the lake, and we can use it at home (brutal solar radiation here it cooks ya)
I used some 1x2s, staples and solar screening, couple bungees...we plan to use it on our easy up shelter so we can side block the sun at the end of the day and such out on the beach at the lake

how I clipped it in place...

our kids, my nephew and 2 other peoples girls....at our little private beach out on lake mead this past weekend
IMG_8837.jpg

heres a good example picture of why I built the solar shade...see the easyups arent doing anything at about 4pm and later...and it is STILL hot as heck out at Lake Mead in July August...the water hits 85 degrees in the middle of summer
IMG_8664.jpg

all my older neice in the cuddy of Jezebel, we can fit 6 adults total in the bench seats comfy, cram 2 or 3 more kids in front of that in the bed area too....

Hi QC !!!!!!!!!! thank man..... we went to Henderson water street for some fireworks...and this year they didnt even have a festival or fireworks at all! it was tumbleweeds blowing down main street when we got there so we ended up watching Green Valley casino fireworks (they were real good and we were about 100ft from where they shot em off from) Mebbe we can hook up sometime out at Lake mead or havasu some time! we will be going to Havasu sometime later this summer...and Lake mead is every weekend sometimes weekdays too. PM me your cell number before ya make a trip to lake mead and Ill do the same when we get our Havasu trip going

Great pics Man!! Where'd you go to for the fireworks? Boulder City? That's usually a good show . . . Havasu on the water for us again this year.

Re: PROJECT ~ JEZABEL 23' Sleekcraft Executive ~ Turbo Restore ~ Tons of pics

Thanks again Faux

ok the headrest idea, I tried for a whole afternoon to upholster it myself, but decided if I want it to look awsome it will have to be professionally upholstered. theres a shop down the road I heard they do good less pricey work etc...give em a shot.

The engine is running pretty good, but needs MORE TWEAKING! Im starving still at top end, especially on a long lake run, so I believe Ill remove the top of the carb and adjust the float, I had tweaked it down 3 weeks back, I shouldnt have messed with it since we set it up right when we overhauled the dang carb.

this past weekend with a full load of people 4100 rpms was max before starve or no more speed etc....

I bought 2 more speakers, they will be installed in the cuddy area
, There's these 2 "ribs" that have pre-cut holes already etc..... they will go there. My dad is passing me some solar LED strip lights or something? once he gets em to me Im going to see if they work out in the cuddy for additional light. plus the 2 lights in there now burn up alot of battery power .....so go LED? we will see!

Spent part of last week sanding down and polishing out the gel on the starboard side... looking good! few more spots out sand and polish and she'll be spiffy!

for those of you that might have missed these videos and pics

, heres us testing the out drive in a bucket = VIDEO click for video on youtube

the 1rst splash video in case ya missed it is HERE

and for some of you that asked, Ill post these, here's some pics of the outdrive being assmbled

IMG_8242.jpg

heres some heavy duty internal guts
IMG_8243.jpg

Miranda my wife helping bolt her back together!
IMG_8245.jpg

guts installed, HOPE WE GOT IT RIGHT!! lol
IMG_8247.jpg

here she's hanging on the hoist, kinda tricky getting her in and on
IMG_8260.jpg

ok this is the PIVOT BOLT for the outdrive assy, there are 2 of em, anyways, our boat was missing the washer spacers, so we manufactured some out of a house wiring box, nice tough plastic, wont rust! sturdy etc....worked out perfect btw....

Re: PROJECT ~ JEZABEL 23' Sleekcraft Executive ~ Turbo Restore ~ Tons of pics

couple more pics

heres the inside angle on the outdrive
, shows the newly lubed up double cardigan u joints (impossible to lube unless you removed all of the bellows, even then it would be VERY difficult, so hope this lubing lasts! also see the water intake connector (small one) and the exhaust connection (big one)
IMG_8256.jpg

looks great here, too bad when we ran it in the mega bucket, the oil/fuel yuk impregnated the newly painted drive (white!) OUCH darn it! ok Ill repaint her at the end of the season when its only 80degrees out or somthing, too hot to paint in Vegas at 107 degrees!
IMG_8257.jpg

here shows the boat side of the gimbal assy, see the trim sender on port was replaced by someone at some time, we Siliconed those blue connectors ALOT to keep out water....actually the starboard sender does the gauge, I guess this one is SUPPOSED to stop the trim motor pump? well it dont! lol anyways, whatever, I got a new sender on the starboard side and thats the guage side so I know where shes setting. (trimwise) oh and goodluck finding a NEW trim sensor, these drives were made for about 3 years or so and that was 30 years back., I thinik I got the last new starboard trim sensor there was on the planet.
IMG_8262.jpg

there she is mostly installed (trim sensors not oringed and bolted bak in place yet,. took another day to get the right size oring to make sure they sealed well against the pivot bolt. I NEED A CHRYSLER PROP SPINNER so if you know where one is let me know!!!!!! it would look swell on here.
I was going to rotate the trim cylinders, but after some uses on the lake we will keep em the way they are, theres a nice spray that comes off those 90degree fittings, they jet water up on top of the drive, no need for a drive fountain to keep her cool at speed! yea

Hi ya Redone4x4
well I seen one for sale and on its specs it said #2800 lbs? that sounds light but mebbe its right....the motor prob weighs about 700 or so...outdrive another 160 lbs.... they are pretty solid...they used nice big fiberglass crossweave stuff...

ok I JUST LOOKED at the original build sheet...(we have it) no info on weight! Hardin Marine H260 motor (260hp chevy 350) found out too that the ORIGINAL owner had this boat from 1981 to 2005, he was a Dentist out of California...he may have passed away...not sure...he traded a boat in for 6k and paid an additional 9 for this (cash) so $15,000 for this boat new in 1981....guess a new similar one would run 45-60k OUCH!

theres a few of em here in Vegas for sale, seen a pretty sweet fixer upper for $750 on Cl a few weeks back with trailer.....
the 26ft Ambassador is about the same but they usually have BB engines and are a smidge roomier in the cuddy...almost identical tho...seen those on CL occasionally too..sometimes for very low prices (IE fix it upper)
