So I put plastiguage on the mains, torqued them to spec, then backed them off. Everything was well within the spec. Put assembly lube on everything, aligned the cam timing marks, then started torquing the caps in sequence.....I was on the final pass of 65 ft. lbs. SNAP

That is the bolt that has the stud on it to secure the oil pump pickup........I resisted the urge to throw something......then went to the house and had a beer....all I wanted to do was torque the mains and call it a day! After a beer I ventured down to the shop and started working on it with a center punch trying to turn it. To my amazement it turned, after about 5 minutes I had it out.
That is what I get for being cheap, just ordered ARP studs! So I guess things are at a stop till the studs show up next week sometime. But the good news is everything turns nicely and the fix isn't bad at all on the broken bolt.
