Found this again, I came across it a while back....my house is getting beat up about 2:25 or so

Horrific EF-5 Moore, Oklahoma tornado: May 20, 2013 - YouTube

Kind of weird watching it with snow on the ground now! This is actually when it was in OKC, not Moore, it hit there later. And yes the house in the foreground of the first part is the ugliest thing ever built, lol! Big but ugly!

I don't think I ever posted these pics of the damage to the pontoon. There are also some dents in the starboard pontoon now. One of the reasons I bought it was because the pontoons were in good shape!

I don't really see a way to get the dents out of the toon, anyone have a suggestion? I guess I could paint them, but I really wanted to polish them up like a mirror.....guess I could try it and see what it looks like.

Here is my update on where I have been on you tube, first post since this spring. Should also be posting video on the barn and bathroom soon...may never get the barn done if the weather keeps this up.....I'm sooo ready to get back to normal things like working on the boat!

Hey Arch, Good to hear you had a satisfactory experience with your adjuster..goes a long way in easing the transition back to normalcy when the funds become available....we dont get real tornadoes here, so I cant really compare the experience. My adjuster was just a cranky old man (actually they sent an investigator/adjuster), who decided that the Hurricane didnt cause my barn wall to collapse, he instead is trying to say we caused the damage ourselves because hes never seen wind cause a barn wall to fall...I needed him like a hole in the head....so now its in litigation.

Anyhow, nice quality vid and good to meet you face to face :)...keep up the good work and hopefully you sweat your way into some nice upgrades!

Thanks Zool, no sweat here today, it was pretty cool in the scissor lift at the barn today, 20' up. 25mph wind, no sun and upper 20's, great fun! It did finally warm up above freezing and the sun came out! I hope things work out on your barn, one of my neighbors is in a lawsuit with their insurance company. They are still living in limbo 6 months after the tornado, that really sucks. Here is the intro on the bathroom video for anyone interested in following....barn video coming next.

Looks like you got a good start on the bathroom ! I must have missed it before but you said a boat crashed into the roof !!
Any pics of that ?
Does the lift have snow chains ?
Btw , being just an ol boy from Florida warming up to just above freezing just don,t sound like warming up to me ! :joyous:

Sphelps, I didn't know what it was till I was up in the attic repairing the rafters and started find pieces of fiberglass that matched the pieces of the boat in my field! There wasn't much left of it in the field, but enough to figure out it was a boat.

Were supposed to get hammered again on Friday, so chains for the lift might be helpful :cold:

Great vid on the bathroom.. Looking forward for more on it..
The framing is looking good.. Nice to see the white stuff gone..
Supost to hit in low 70's by Friday then turn cold over the weekend here..
Are you really moving the sissorlift that fast to need snow chains on it..(LOL)

The barn is ready for trusses....they delivered them yesterday, they look great. Very good quality.

Tonight they are slowly getting covered in ice. They are talking about up to an 1", I hope they are wrong, otherwise I will be getting the chainsaw back out. For some reason I don't think I'm going to miss 2013 very much!

Yeh , ya getting a crane or are you gunna use the lift in the middle with the old grab and growl method . I have not walked the plate or rode the ridge in a long time . It would take a few trusses to get my nerve back for sure .. :fear:

Re: Pontoon rebuild / redesign

either a strait mast fork lift or a sky track......haven't sorted that out yet. I need to get the planets to align, fork lift here, good weather, and getting my helpers here....maybe next weekend, this one is out for sure. Its just plane nasty out there right now....freezing rain...one helper is a power company lineman....he will just yawn and ask why it is so short. Two more are sign guys, used to crawling around on highway billboards....I'm with you on not walking a plate in a while, but grew up framing...and its a nice wide 2x6 plate :D
