Re: pic of work so far

That's awesome. I've been working so many hours lately I haven't had a chance to get much done on the boat...I really wish I had a garage or some sort of temporary shelter I could set up so I could hang some lights and be on it after it gets dark...

Man John, you really are making me jealous. I LOVE your boat and now that the interior is going in im itching with excitement(been grinding:cool:)! Make sure you get some documentary style photos of the seat job. I know a lot of folks could use a how to, myself included. Are you doing any other interior upgrades while you are at it?

Hey John, what foam are you using for the seat upholstery? I tried using that green foam from the fabric store and wasn't impressed with it's ability to hold up...you need dense foam for the seats in order for it to not crush to nothing...and I have no idea where you get it unless you go to a company that deals with all types of foam ( we have A-1 Foam in MN ).

Re: pic of work so far

OK guys lets try this AGAIN , hit spell checker and lost this twice , once last night and then just now !!!RTERTR#$$#$%$%,

Mike its the stuff from Joe Ann's , it the high density stuff, its 2 inch, I am thinking i should have went with the 3 inch Theo !!

OK , well yesterday, Jeff was here and he said he would wire the new light ,I just wanted to hook up the new lights to the old harness and save the new one for after i paint the trailer !! so no problem there he got that done and then I needed some safety chains put on, while he was doing that he he noticed that the plug was pulled right out from the wires !!!#$%$#$% the kid pulled it instead of grading the hitch he pulled the wires to move it while he was cutting the grass !!!!! kids got to love then ???? lol

So told Jeff just to throw the new harness in, well after he got that done , I was working on the boat , we pulled the truck up and tried them , well we turned on the blinker on and they both would blink , turned the lights on and we got nothing ??????? well we checked the connections and they were all fine , so we disconnected it all and tried one wire at a time !! same then tried mixing and matching wires , same , I was really having fun by then , I was thinking it had to be in the plug , so we cut the new one off and went with the old one and still the same , well we were going to give up for the night and Jeff said lets try it right at the plug , so we took off the light and wired it right there , and what do you know , it worked just fine !!!!! its in the frecken new wire harness !!!@#$#%#$%$#%#$ so that is going back today and getting a new one !!!!!

well while Jeff was doing that i was working on the boat , I got the battery boards glassed in and got the speedo tube mounted and sealed , and the depth finder also mounted , I sealed it with pl premium, they will never come off again !!!

Ohh I got in trouble , forgot we had a couple open houses to go to today , so called Uncle Ed yesterday and asked if we could move it to Monday for the seats , and of coarse he not going to be home Monday, so Tuesday is the seats now !!$#%$%#$ lol

Ok guys wish me luck today !!! lol John

John what is your tow vehicle ? My 02 Chevy express van required a special setup for the trailer plug ( something about the tail and brake lights being differant bulbs). I played heck with mine then just took it to Uhaul they had it fixed quick .

You probably already know this but ink and marine vinyl are a bad combination. Make yer markings with pencil. Vinyl absorbs the ink/marker faster than you'll believe and I know that from first hand experience with a Batman utility belt I was making from yellow marine vinyl.

here is a remedy I found.

It's ALWAYS the grounds with trailer wiring when things don't work right...the grounds at the lights themselves. I had weird things going on with mine, and as soon as I made absolutely positive that the bolts on the lights were getting a good ground, everything worked perfectly. ;)

Say John, did you use those 3 inch SS bolts they used originally:eek:...man what a PITA. I haven't taken my windshield off yet simply because I don't have a safe place to store it...er, didn't...I have some room in the loft of my shed now that I got my christmas garbage stored in the house...I might take it off this summer. But, what a pain with those bolts!

Beyond that though, it's looking real nice now that it's starting to look like a boat again! You didn't polish the windshield aluminum though! :p

I thought you were supposed to be in the water this past weekend?!?!? Slacker.

Just kidding! Are you hoping to dunk it on fathers day? That would be the ultimate present!
