well the other day the wife told me to go check out Joe Ann fabric's , and i remember some one else talking on here how they got a coupon for there and they got a great price !! well i stopped after work and sure enough 12.99 a yard and they had my red and the white !! but they didnt have any coupons so i came home and signed up for there email and sure enough they sent me a coupon for 40 % off on one thing !! then the wife found me another one for 40 % off !!! so tomorrow I will stop and pick up my VINYL !!! YEE HAAA lol she gave me a price of 207.00 for 8 yards of both white and red , and with the 40 % off it should bee 125.00 !!! too cool !!

The guy on ebay wrote me back and said it was more candy red , so that one wouldnt work any way !!! his price was 167.00 !! John

John, I'd be a little wary of the Joann Fabrics vinyl...Marine grade vinyl is marine grade for a reason....Not sure how long that stuff is going to hold up in a marine environment...might want to do some research first.

Granted, if you can stitch up a new set of covers every few years and it doesn't cost you more than you are willing to part with each time, then by all means, I'd go for it!

I'd be curious to see how well the stuff holds up . The front vinyl on my boat is still supple and crack free after all these years of abuse.

The JoAnn.com site shows a lot of their marine vinyl being from Nautolex. Perhaps that is what they are selling in the stores. The online samples on the site look a lot like what is in the store over here but no brandnames are provded on the racks.

John, does yours say Nautolex on the reverse side?

HAHAHA Neil hahahah , Been busy, with work and honey do list !!!

Ok heres some pics of the vinyl , I really think it matches great !!!! Boy what a pain i went threw to get it !!! went to the Joe-anns close to the house , well she got to measureing and she only had 6.5 yards of both, I need 8 , she looked on her puter and said they had 9 of the red at the other store and only 4 of the white there , so on the way there called home and got my biggest dimention with the white, thinking I could get that there and come back and get the rest !!! well got there and they didnt even have a yard of the red !! @$$%%$##$%$%%^%% but they had enought of the white , but it was 16.99 and half off, so it was 9 bucks more then the 12.99 and 40 % off so i got the 8 yards of that 72.00 bucks, ok I thought i would go back to the other store and just get the 6.5 of the red and get the rest in two weeks its going to take them to get some more in !!!! well I was on the highway and they had it closed down a 1/2 mile before I needed to get off, so 40 mins later I was back at the other store and the same lady seen me and and said she found some more of the red . so I got the 8 yards of the red for 63.00 bucks !!!!it is spralding vinyl

Yea, The stuff JoAnn's has is Spradling (mispelled?) brand. No Nautolex was on the rollers when I went.

Still, it is just as good, IMHO.

Re: pic of work so far

So I have just been reading all the post and seen you are using the JoAnn Marine Vynal. I used the stuff to redo the inerior on my boat here a few months back and love it. It is great stuff. just a little tip though, when you are getting ready to do it and it is possible, let the pieces sit in the sun a little before wrapping, this makes it a little more plyable and lets you stretch it a lot tighter. I did have the sun to do it when I did mine, and it is not near as tight as I wanted it. But I do love the stuff, it looks great and has held up so far to wakeboards and skis jabbing it, kids tearing around on it, and friends and I standing on it ever since I got it done, and it looks like I just did it. The other thing that I found out, all thought this is to late for thouse that have already bought the stuff :p, is that if you brows the net for JoAnn coupons, you can save a lot. I got one for 50% off and saved over $150 doing mine.

Thought I would through in my 2? worth :D although I am a total newby to baots and interior and stuff. Hope it helps!! :D

Here's another quick tip that will truly save you misery. If you are putting foam in between your backer board and the vinyl, cut it an inch wider and then use 3M spray 80 adhesive to hold it in place. Not on the vinyl side, just the backer side. This will greatly help make your pulls and stretches even and give it that pro finished look.

Cool guys thanks for the tips !! also if you wrap the foam in a trash bag and then slide the vinyl over then just pull the trash bag out !!!
Thanks there nplorson I was wondering if anyone had used it before !!

ok guys got out of work at 3 ,and started on her , I put the frame for the rub rail on and got the two gagues back on , didnt get them hooked up but they are mounted !! also mounted the bow tie down and the two in the back !! started on the window mounts got the one on the starboard side mounted !!!

Ok guys got some running to do it the morning but she should be on the trailor tomorrow !!!!! John
