Yeah John, I'm still workin on it as much as I can. With 2 small kids free time is a little hard to come by but I manage to scrape out a little time... I was able to get the cap off this weekend, I'll be posting some pic's on my thread soon.​

ohh yea your not far from where i grew up just past hoover on ten mile , Roan was the name of the street 25303 roan !!

So far I've looked at 2 Aco's, 1 Home Depot, 1 Lowes, 2 True Value's and I've called a couple of other places, and no dice...​

I will start looking around here to see what i can find !! and let you know !!

I did find a lead on a different manufacture that sounds interesting called Kush Paint Co. in Roseville. I read about them somewhere online and the reviews sounded good. I haven't called for price info yet. This is from their site (http://kushpaint.com/):​

There Marine High Gloss Enamel , looks good , let me know what there prices are , if there not to much i might just have to take a run down there !! like the red in the high gloss , but they didnt have a white high gloss and i need a clear also !!

If the price isn't too high I might give them a try...​

Gonna shoot for this coming Monday...weather is supposed to hit around 70 for the high....which means 60 on the lake effectively. Haven't been out with my brother but one other time, so we are going to close out the season.

Weekend before last was a tough bite though. Managed one Largemouth I wouldn't write home about and a bunch of decent sized perch ( eaters ) and it wasn't until later on when we moved to black lures that we started catching fish. My first one was a nice fiesty toothy.

OK, I called Kush Paint, they said their price is $8.00 for a quart and $29.99 for a gallon for the marine paint. I don't think the color chart on their website is totally accurate either, when I called I asked about white semi-gloss (which is not on the chart) and they had it. When I get a chance, I'm going to try to run over there and see if I can get a printed color chart...​

OOOHHH Really !! thats not a bad price !!!!!! did you see anything on a clear coat ??? I'm not going to need the paint for a month or two !!! That really not a bad price , and i like that its made here in mich !!!

I was looking at the chart also and didnt think they were the right colors eather!!!! the only one that even look half way right and that was the high gloss !! that what i think i want to go with !! man a gallon red and a gal, of white and what a quart of clear , 70 bucks !!!! I can live with that !!!! And that will leave a bunch left over !!

Hay when you talk to them again ask them what we can use to cut it with !!

i think that redfury will back me up in saying that the colors you see on a computer monitor are not nessarily the colors of the product.....computer monitor color matching is a real problem in the print industry.....

a person will see a mock up on the puter....work for days to get the color right......order it as it appears....and the printer will deliver a different color (just a shade or two off) and the coustomer is ticked !......not the printers fault....but he allways gets blamed....its that there is no standard for colors between monitors....any monitor you look at in a computer store will look just a little different.....

you will need a printed color swatch to get the real idea of the color.....

btw.....hope you crazies are havin fun fishin.....i can "feel" somthing in the air here......and it feels like "sn*w"....

OOOOHH yea thats a good post ooops , I knew that but i bet a lot of people didnt know that !! I am planning on running down there when i need the paint it only like 45 mins from here !!! and what i really like its made here in Mich!!!! and that price is great !!!!!!!!!!!

OHHH man why do you have to swear like that !!!!!!!! lol I was out today for a while , it was really raining here this morning got out about 10 , and it started comming down again about 1 , we had to hide under a bridge till about 2;30 but it was still better then not going out !!!!!!! lol it takes me about 25 mins running full out to get back to the docks from where i drop off my buddie , and it was pouring !!! I need a bikini top bad !!!! lol !!!!! it was still fun running full out in the rain !!! hahaha John

I didn't measure the Northern John...I just ate it If I had to guess..the board is 21 inches wide....it was about a 3 pounder...maybe more. Had a fish in its gut half digested, so I think it hit either on opportunity or defending its territory. Fun to fight and good to eat either way!
