Re: pic of work so far

BTW, where did you acquire the glastron logo decal John?

I've got some ideas of what I want to do with my paint job, but I have to work quite a bit on it to get it on the pictures I have of my boat to show you guys. Hopefully I can whip something up in a week....I think you'll like it. It fits my personality better than just red paint ( which is my favorite color ).

We guys , as far as cost the vinyl is 13 dallors a yard, i have seen it a little cheaper , and i am thinking 10 yard each , red and white , 260.00, I am going to measure my old stuff it might be less that i need !! and the foam I found a place on line that had some great prices , i dont really rember but i think it was around 150 for the foam !! I got it book marked some where on this thing, lol and the sewing is my uncle he work in the trim plant at fords for 35 years so that not a problem !! hes got his own machine . the only thing i might have a problem is with the bow the red around the top, i have to fab a board for it !! Re: pic of work so far

in the winter.....boat uph shops are slooooo......deals can be had.

rob j did his boat for 2 grand...(in the off season)....i know that sounds like alot.....but i saw his boat beside 30....40 ...and 250k boats....and his looked like it belonged there.

also you can save a ton of cash if you dis assemble the peices your self and keep the patterns....(the old uph)......if you take the parts in...they can work cheaper.....as there is not as much labor involved for them.....

the materials can be bought cheep off e-bay or other if you dig around....just look at redfurys roll of csm

there are also people that do it as a hobby....or on a part time basis...that can be really good.

the scheme you are looking at looks fantastic john.....
see.....you dont need to spend 30k on a great boat....you just built one :)

Re: pic of work so far

OOOHHH yea buddie I totally agree if i didn't have to get another motor I wouldn't even have 2 grand in her , but even with the motor 850 bucks, i will only have 2500, in her !! And i know its in better shape then If i were to have someone else do it , and 100% better then when it was new !! and if she made it 32 years when glastron made her just think how long she will last now , with the stringers and transom all glassed in , and the drainage i add !! and 3 layers of eglass and 4 on the transom !! also the LED lighting i am adding !! and the best part well the second best part is all the knowledge that i have learned !! and the best part is the friends that i have made on here !! well when i got mine ne7800 it was 750, got it for 500 , but i wouldnt have gotten her if i would have taken it to my merc guy , I had him start her she fired up , let her run for a bit , then he shut it off we talked a bit more and i had him start it again she fired right up !! so i took her home , it was a 76 merc, 90hp , took her out and got about 300 yards off shore and she died , was talking to a friend and he said you just fouled out the plugs , so i changed them and went out again this time got a mile and a half out and died again , took it to my guy , and number 3 was 60 lbs !! #!#@@!@!!!!#$%%$%$^*********
then I found this one on ebay !! he said he would take it back if she didnt run !! so here i am now !! 2500 and a new boat !! john
