Looking at the Number Patterns, I came up with 1954 25hp, on his other thread with this engine in itAre you sure it isn't 25029? That would be a 1957 35hp
A 1957 I think.-----Post a picture of model # plate.-----Looks like throttle gears might not be right.----Post a few pictures of that set-up.
A 40hp Lark would never look like that. It would have had a Fiberglass CowlThat set up looks a lot like a boat we had when I was a kid. It had a 40 HP Evinrude Lark.
Post a pic of the engine with a the Port side of the Cowl open. It might help me with Guestamating the YrThis is the boat I've got it on any idea how fast i can expect it to go? I can't find anything on this boat it don't have a plate or any numbers on it. It came on a gator tilt trailer still has the original hub caps if you can believe it.

That set up looks a lot like a boat we had when I was a kid. It had a 40 HP Evinrude Lark. My mon and dad used to ski behind it. I've seen those long bars across the back of older motors that were used with steering cables on hydroplanes! Not steering cables like we use today, but the old type of cables that wrapped around a drum on the back of the steering wheel and then a cable ran down each side of the boat and to the motor. There were pullys in the corners with springs to keep tension on the cables. As a kid, that boat used to fly! But I'm guessing it'll do about 35 MPH. I think those older motors were all a little under rated on horsepower. I see the fuel connector has 3 pins. Do you have the correct gas tank for the motor? That's a motor that has not fuel pump, right?
I got a mile master it's not evenrude but close enough, I got out bid on a freshly rebuilt cruise a day by$15 I was so mad. But I found this one for a good deal that had the connector with it in decent shape. I figured I'd give it a new paint job. Already sanded all the rust off everything on the inside and cleaned it up and put new custom leather seals on it. This boat I think might have sort of the steering your talking about, it has a drum behind the steering wheel with channels through the middle of it where cables are ran from there to a series of pulls. I was thinking about changing it out but it looks brand new. Any idea how safe they are? That set up looks a lot like a boat we had when I was a kid. It had a 40 HP Evinrude Lark.
