Do you know what carburetor rebuild kit I need?A 25924 is a 1956 model 30 HP
Jimbo thank you so much! I have had the hardest time fi ding parts for this thing. When I opened the skeg up everything locks together and spins when I do it by hand but the snap rings was broken. Is there any way that could be what's causing it to not go in to gear and stay in gear? Also would any 2" snap ring work for this or is there something special about it?This for a 57 35hp. unfortunately the Site doesn't provide for 1956 models
I'm quite certain that the Gearcase and internals stayed the same between the 1956 thru 1965 model yrs for the Big Twin engine.

I think so, I can post some pictures when I get off work and let you see if you think I need to get new gears and such. How did you do a search like that on that website.I believe the Snap Ring is being used a stop for the Trust Washer. If it that Washer moves, the Reverse Gear can move also, with not good results. If it the correct Thickness, I can't see why it won't work.
Yours does have a Tapered Roller Bearing at the Front of the Propshaft?
It will slide back and forth bit stopps right about an inch before it comes off the splines. The difference between a Lark and a Big Twin, is Paint, a few shiny bits of Trim on the Cowl, and a Cover over the Choke, Mixture Knobs, and Cowl Latch
The Clutch Dog on a 56 should just slide off, forward or backward. Does it slide back and forth on the Splines?
See Post #58Also I bought a new oem clutch dog but I can't get the old one off, is it supposed to slide off easy or do you have to take the back baring that's pressed on off to get the clutch dog off? I found the whole assembly online for a "56 30hp lark 302520 375769 is the part number i belive would it work for my 56" 30hp big twin 25924 if I can't get the old clutch dog off? And thank you so much for your help this thing has been a journey, but after I get this figured out I will ha e replaced or put my hands on everything this motor has and it's a good feeling but has got me so anxious to get on the water!
