T - That was a mercy killing. In other words, glassercide. You butchered her so fast you didn't even bother to add her to your sig,

Here's what was left after the glasser carnage. only problem is the G-man didn't take it all. Wife was getting home while he was here, she said, he loaded about 60% of and was on the phone to his boss and not looking happy. Needless to say I need to get rid of the rest it now.

and this is the calkins roller trailer that was under it

60% is good. You did some good demo there. :joyous: I used to fill up garbage bags with all kinds of small pieces of everything. But I just put out a couple of bags at a time.

I can't believe you cut that thing up into those small chunks and he still wouldn't take it. That would be like 5 extra minutes to throw the rest of that in:rolleyes:

I'm just going to pull a Jason and haul the thing to the dump whole and let them run over it.

Its tough to get rid of fiberglass boats here. Landfill charges $150 to take the hull. Bigger boats they charge more. Even the auto salvage yard charges you to take them. They use to pick it up. But they the changed their policies. I have a friend that lives in a bigger city just down the road, I'll see if he'll ride along and we'll take it to his city drop off site. Should cost me less than $10 as long as its all cut up.

Sprayed the second coat of primer last weekend. Started sanding the hull tonight for a little while. Who knows might just splash this thing in 2014, or 15.....

Re: Oh no. Here I go again.......

First coat of paint is on. But, it will take me 2 coats, because I SUCK AT PAINTING!!! and PAINTING OUT SIDE W/ BUGS! Oh well. I'm going to go secret from here out , on the look of the boat or paint scheme . The boat needs to be a surprise. However, I'll still provide photo's of things going on, because I enjoy the photo's on all the rebuilds. I thought the suspense on the final look would be fun. The only hint I'll give is 2-tone paint. I 've been so busy it's crazy, I'm surprised I've gotten anything done. . The good thing is that I sold enough boat parts to make this boat almost free. So its a lot of fun for me.

No more work for a little while. I need some time off, vacation for a week. Friends, family, and fun for week. Plus I get to take the Nassau out for some fishing. Too much rambling, that's what too many beers and paint fumes will do.:)

Hoping for response to my previous post on the seat bracket I'm looking for. There has to be a Islander owner out with a spare bracket somewhere. I'm hoping anyway.

Sorry I can't help you with the seat bracket. Secret paint job, bugs in the paint, too much beer and paint fumes, sounds like classic MBS in the final stages.

Then he's gonna paint it camo so we can't see it.

Can't help on the seat bracket. Maybe check some of the salvage yards in the stickies. I think it's in the resto section.

Do you have the missing piece? A weld job possibly?

Might be able to make that out of square aluminum tube --- drill a hole for the shaft... Just a thought...

No missing piece, I thought of making one. but will look for an original piece I decided. If don't find one, that's ok too. I'll keep looking for now, I have lots of time before I get to that point. Figured I start my search early. There's enough SC's here. Someone might pop up with one, yet. the right person just needs to see the request. Thanks tough.

Don't limit the search to SC's. I've seen folding helm seats in all brands of boats. Most of the Starcraft hardware is off the shelf stuff used by all the boat mfgs.

Re: Oh no. Here I go again.......

I just fired up the motor from that glasser I killed. 1965 650 Merc Short Shaft with newer controls wired in. Fresh gas and battery. Popped right off! That just increased its value. No water pumping though, as I suspected it wouldn't, so I had to shut her down right away. Just as soon as sell it I can buy my decking.

Just about done with repairing the controls on my 67' 650SS for the Holiday. Had to repair the cable and harness, and a few fried wires in the control box. Primed the box. Need new impeller for that one too.

I seem to spend more time working than fishing. Can't wait for tomarrow I'm taking the Nassau out.
