Big milestone yesterday...got the motor mounted!

Also got my first mow of the year in, which had me looking at my mess of a garage... Figured with all the moving around I needed to do to get things moved from winter storage to seasonal use, it was time to get the motor off the stand and onto the back of the boat. The garage hoist made it a one man job, and the swing tongue I added to the trailer gives me the fit I was hoping for in the garage. I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to trim my motor all the way down on the trailer, but the slight tire size increase gave me just enough clearance. I'm at the top holes on the motor, so could always raise it a hole, but the cavitation plate lines up almost perfect with the bottom of the hull as it sits.

Also got all the "spares" and "projects" tucked away nicely, aside from the extra parts lying around. Need to find a good spot to keep everything organized that's in pieces and not sitting on a motor stand...

Wiring was a tedious process and I still have some finish work and wire management left to do, but everything works so far! I took a harness and cut off the plugs on the console side to wire everything in independently. Top mount controls, trim switch, ignition, kill switch, tach, water gauge, radio, speakers, switch panel(nav lights, courtesy lights, bilge, livewell, etc.)...it's all working. Still need to wire up my trolling motor/plug/Noco charger/breaker, but have two new group 29 deep cycles here and a new cable crimper, lugs, and 6awg wire. Looked at just buying premade battery cables, but it's always nice to have new tools and figured the larger crimper might come in handy down the road for other needs.

It's getting closer!

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

Man I need that winch system you have. I should have thought of that when I did mine. I used the old engine lift method.
