I have the same trailer, but my rollers in the rear are much longer ( 5 rollers long)..my center keel roller was replaced with a self centering roller and another keel roller up front. With the longer rear rollers I don't need the front bunks. Was not a fan of the tilt on the rear cross member either, but after getting my trailer setup for my boat, it does work well ! I would seriously consider some side guides, mine are almost 5' long and makes loading so much easier. Some nice looking young fishermen you have there !!!

Picked up another TOP over the weekend. Was sitting on an old fiberglass boat that they were trying to get rid of. Pulled the plugs and found cylinder #3 to have a bit of an issue. Unfortunate, but I grabbed it anyways for $100. '84 with the integrated power tilt and a complete set of interchangeable parts for my '84 and '82(older trim) 115hp TOPs. I kinda like these old towers, sort of the muscle cars of old outboards. I know they're not the most cost efficient to rebuild when the blocks need work, but figure I may do one as a hobby down the road. They take up less space in the garage than another boat:)

Of yeah, came with a new(recently purchased) control box too!

Nothing like working on your own motor to know how to troubleshoot/fix. A lot cheaper then a mechanic, if you can find one that will work on these older engines.

Yeah, I've now got one complete 115hp with good compression and a complete 115hp and 90hp, both with one bad cylinder. The bad 115hp has one cylinder reading 100psi, so not sure yet if its completely gone, or maybe just a stuck ring. This 90hp was 120-125psi on all but #3. Once I cleared the plug hole, it read just over 40psi, so pretty sure that one is shot. If I could find someone nearby that could hone/bore the two blocks, I'd be tempted to rebuild one or both as a hobby. I know its not always the most cost efficient, but not too bad, especially if doing it over time.

Just the integrated trim unit was enough for me to pay the $100 bills for it, along with the carb set, cowling, lower unit, controls, and all the other interchangeable parts, it was a no brainer. Really wish the compression would have checked out, but, it is what it is.

Maybe I'll become an old TOP hobbyist and mechanic in my retirement years:) Or, I'll just pick up a new 4 stroke and be done with it all...lol

I work on my 1974 Evinrude and enjoy it. Toyed with a new 4 stroke, but cost makes me question why when I have a working motor I can fix. Like new cars these days, you need a computer with OEM software to fix anything....

I have always enjoyed fixing small out boards and thought it would be a great retirement hobby. Well guess what, it seems everyone else enjoys fixing small outboards ! Haven't found one in decent condition in the past 5 years that didn't need a second mortgage on my house.
