Re: nature1100's 1965 Starcraft 18' Holiday Restoration

Got the top side prepped for paint. All the little screw holes are filled in and sanded smooth. Still need to get primer/paint and mask everything, but that is a project for next week. Tomorrow I am going to install/seal all the transom hardware, and also seal all the seams of the splash-well. Will get pictures tomorrow night after the work is complete.

Picture of last night's progress.

Also, shown in the picture above, I have also removed the front dash yesterday. Tonight I got a laundry list complete. All the transom hardware, slash-well drains, and transom u-bolts are installed. Sealed all the splash-well seams. Installed the bilge pump discharge port and hose. The entire back end is sealed up. Ready for paint!!!!

Third update:
Front dash and carpet installed.

Steering, Outboard, Gauges, and Topside hardware installed.

Also got the decals on the outboard.

Continuing to work on the wiring. Should have that complete this weekend. If everything goes well, splash will be next weekend.

That dash looks cool. The steering wheel and dash reminds me of my dad's old '72 Malibu.

Re: nature1100's 1965 Starcraft 18' Holiday Restoration

Thanks everyone. It has really started to come together.

Wiring is complete and I have one side panel completed. I ran out of glue so I couldn't finish the other side. I did get the right panel installed and was able to mount the control box and route the cables and harness and routed everything out to the outboard.

Things to complete for the spash this weekend:
Put vinyl on left side panel
Install left side panel
Put carpet on front foot rest
Install front foot rest
Mount seats
Install windshield
Install anchor light post

After the first splash I will work on doors for the storage under the splashwell and step pads for the gunwales.

Will post some pictures tonight.

Nature - That looks like a solid 5, 10, 15 minutes of work. :)

Pictures from last weekend. Splash went well. Had a problem with the tach not working, but fiqured out that it is a bad rectifier.

Boat on lift on the lake:

Got the boat up to 38mph

That's absolutely great work - motor looks and seems to run like new. What did you use for seats? I have the same boat as you - and want to put a bench seat in at the back. Same sort of style as you picked.

Oh yeah, baby! :D She looks and sounds great, nature. Nothin' like a Tower of Power. When you get the rectifier and the tach starts spinning you might find a little bit more in her. Really all sweetness and the dash is :thumb:. So is the whole boat. :)

EDIT - I went back to look at your first posts. An amazing transformation. Hard to believe it's the same boat!
