Nice boat. I got one like it and really have fun with the family fishing and skiing. The super sport that is...

So got up nice and early Saturday, to attempt the Steelflex Epoxy treatment. This is to seal up every rivet below the water line.

Applied with foam rollers and foam brushes. Was a PITA, but did the job I think. Definitely doesn't look perfect, but its on the bottom :)

Next up, finish the trailer so I can get this bad boy flipped back over finally!!

Looks good... I think you are going to have a nice dry boat! Covers up those repair areas pretty nicely too...

I think she looks great. I always have to remind myself that, at times, done is better than perfect.

Nice sizable catch of wally's there! Some good eating at camp no doubt.

Hey I really like your idea there, bet that stuff caused a stink inside the garage! You know I like the outside the box thinking. Sure beats treating each rivet with epoxy when you have a slew of leakers. Can that stuff be shot on with a spray gun?

What's your plan for the above waterline sides of the hull?

Thanks Show! Good enough for the girls I boat with!

PMC, thanks man! Hope that seals er up good. A little water I am not worried about, so this should take care of that to say the least. Honestly, you cant even tell I "Marine-Texted?" it.

'Nuff said there Otte...Tks man!

Hey Water, we had a blast up there. Cajun fried eyes everyday for lunch, less than an hour from being caught fresh!

Tks, I thingk she will seal right up! I believe a different version of the Steelflex can be shot with a gun..and that version has Teflon in it...bout twice the cost tho. My plan for the rest of the outside is to prime and spray on some Rusto prolly. Thinking black on black...but not sure. Have some other things on my todo list now :( before I get back to da boat.

Re: My Walleye Project - 70's Sea Nymph SS160 1668

Ok, so 4 months later, back in action. Got the SN back on the trailer, leak tested after the SteelFlex and we are 100% dry! Now I will be finishing up reconnecting the trailer lights, then cleaning out the inside of the hull. Preparing for foam/floor/new transom.

Been busy--I will try to sum up the last 4 months....once August hits I usually go into full bow hunting mode. Cameras, hanging stands, scouting, shooting the bow, etc. I dropped the SN and took up my obsession--bow hunting whitetails. Been a slow season in MI. Two does to show is all.

Went on my first DIY out of state bow hunting trip to Nebraska this fall, and connected with this guy on the third night!

Been doing some other odd jobs around the house getting ready for Winter.

Now that deer season's best days are behind us, back to the boats! I winterized the 60 'rude on the StarCraft as best I could (stabil, fogging, lower unit change). Got that guy tarped in the yard, and will be bringing the SN into the garage. This leaves me without a space this winter, but I am ok with that!!! Will update as I get some things going with the Nymph. Wife is 6 months preggo with twin gals, so I better get busy before I have no time left!

Welcome back!!! Wow, lots of venison! Dang nice buck too but bone doesn't eat so well!

Man you hit a double your first time up to bat? Awesome news except for your going to be up to your gunnels in dirty diapers real soon.

You'll be needing some alone time in the garage with your project when the 3 ladies of house allow it that is!

Just found your thread and caught up. Congrats all the way around, boats, marraige, twins and deer! As a father of twin boys all I can say is you better get that boat as far along as possible before the girls show up. It will be slow going after that, but it is all worth it.

Yeah thanks Water! Conceived on the first night from what the doc said, so literally first time up to bat. So much for lots of practice :/ I hear you the garage time...diapers, no sleep, etc. In a few short months, I will have my own harem of females taking up all of my time! (two female labs as well)

Thanks Jas, you sound like most, no..wait...EVERY one of my buddies! Lol

Yea I know we are in for some real work, but I am up to it. To find boat time will be interesting... the getting up early thing is a good idea. Im pretty sure that is when a lot of your work gets done... is it not?

Re: My Walleye Project - 70's Sea Nymph SS160 1668

Well the SS160 is officially taking my spot in the garage...but that's ok.

Adjusted the bunks so they are actually holding the boat. Got all the rif raff out of the hull last night, so now I am ready for foam and floor. Or ripping out the transom. whichever.

I am debating the 2" foam board (in pink) from HD, or pool noodles. Pool noodles seem easier. Any thoughts here? Where do you get cheap pool noodles? I remember seeing it somewhere in one of Jas' threads..

Re: My Walleye Project - 70's Sea Nymph SS160 1668

oooo maybe not after researching a bit more.. post from Jigngrub

""If you do the math, you'll find that swim noodles are actually the most expensive way to foam a boat. It takes more swim noodles to float a pound of weight than any other foam.

The extruded polystyrene rigid sheet foam is the cheapest way to foam a boat... but not the best way.

The best is the 2 part expanding urethane foam that is OEM on every boat I know of made today that requires floatation foam. ""
