Sam, there are only a couple kinds of boating folks, ones who have forgot to put the plug in, and those that lie about it!!!

Here is todays update....

Teak oiled he swim step...

Installed travel chains on the bow seats...

Ran the ToP for about 30 mins on the muffs...adjusted the RPM gauge, had it set wrong. Volt gauge is reading 10.5 volts, but has 12.6 to it... not sure what up with that. At least I know the battery is getting a charge. Also rigged the reverse gear.. not more ticking!!!! While the lower unit lube was hot, drained and re-serviced it.

Should the fuel filter be completely full while running? motor ran fine at idle-1500 revs. Didnt go over that. Seems to me like it should be full though.

I have the exact same filter and mine runs and looks exactly like yours. It's never completely full!!!

I have been wondering that also .. It was like that on the girls boat and I thought that might be part of the problem when it started acting up .. The guy I talked to at the local boat place said he doesn't like using that kind because they are prone to leak air .. He recommended the one piece disposable type .. But I see the glass type used quite often ..

I use the one piece plastic fuel filter and it is never more than 3/4 full. Sometimes as low as 1/2 full while running at higher rpms. Everything is looking FABULOUS! I can't wait to see her in the water and making wake!

I personally LIKE this style filter and haven't had any Air leakage issues with it. I has replaceable filter cartridges and it does a good job for me. I DO use REAL Gas an NOT Ethanol!!!

Gents, Ill tell you the reason why I like this filter.....when I first hooked up the fuel line (copper, 3/8th od, 1968 original), stroked the bulb, and a bunch of crap came out of the line, trapped in the filter, I was able to disassemble the entire unit, clean and reassemble and reinstall. It has already paid for itself.....something nice about not having to throw it away after one use....

looking good cor! What ever you do don't use ethanol, you;ll only do it once, the ToP will do a meltdown with that crap in it.

This morings update...

this pix is for Sam

Sits in the water very nice...

Engine runs on the trailer...click on the pix.

I discovered if the bow is high (on the ramp)...the fuel will free flow to the motor...and it was half flooding out. Otherwise all went very well.
