I ran my dad's boat on Sunday for a bit powered by the single cylinder POS Merc 5 that came with it. Holy crap is that thing aweful. Loud and shakey. I told him I will only use my wonderful Evinrude 4 from now on.

The thing I like best about my 7.5: The "no wake zone" signs mean nothing to me!

Sweet motor Kev. Can't tell from the pics, did it have a stainless prop with it? How does the T & T work?
You realize the only problem you will have is the money you save on gas you will likely spend on beer:eek: Oh well, such a hard life.;)

Well here is some action...albeit trash can! Man after she was warmed up all I had to do was barely tug on the rope and she fired off..idles nice too..I let her slow idle for almost 30 minutes and she just put put put putted away.
VERY HAPPY! :D Heres vid..

On the water tomorrow!

What an awesome little motor...sounds great! One question as I'm not familiar with these low horsepower motors...Where the water is exiting{exhaust ports?} is that the only telltale? I think I would be constantly worrying and leaning over the transom to see what's happening...educate me if you will..thanks!

That's gonna make a great kicker Kev...congrats again.

Thanks Kenny..Not bad for a 38 year old motor..Will paint her up later after some water time..
Yep thats it as far as I know...Others far schmarter than I would chime in but I am pretty sure...Ya, she will serve double duty, on the 14 ftr and the Holiday..
