Theres a couple Tarpon spots about a mile south of this spot, then another half mile to some shark, redfish & snook.
-------------------------------------

Id love to have those options, Id try the sharks first just for fun. :)

I kinda have those options but need to drive 15 miles out to sea.

Had a great day tooling around..The Rude ran flawlessly all day! Sine me and my woman aren't featherweights..It wasnt fast, but wow she didnt give me one hic cup all day..Loading pics and vids..But here she is @ the dock..
You will note all the serious gear....I mounted rod holder this morning, I got them at a yard sale a couple weeks ago for a buck each! BP wants 10.00 for one...ya NO! I love how rod holders let people know I mean business...lol

I like it Kev! That would be a perfect pond jumper for me up this way. I still think it would benefit you to put an electric trolling motor on it though. It would let you go in even shallower water if you wanted and give a little piece-o-mind if you needed a back up. That little bugger of an engine is impressive. It pushes the boat great it seems. Now I all I gotta do is come down there and teach ya how to fish:rolleyes: ( I hear y'all got dem big 'ol basses down there:D)

Hey Kev,
Nice video. Looks like you were enjoying yourself tooling around the waterways.
I wish I could in my boat, however I do get to sand a lot.
Looks great.

Kev I totally missed out on you posting those sweet vids:confused:

Love seeing the Lonestar throwing up a nice wake:D

That Evinrude runs even more smoothly than my '55 Johnson:cool:

Did you see any gators? Have you been trolling with the Evinrude on the slow setting?

Seen a few on the river..they freaked Diane out in this boat..But not in the Holiday..She is brave on that one..lol

Have idled in the backwaters at trolling speed...but havent actually trolled the rapalas yet..I actually wanted to go get a free 14 ft trailor in great shape but of course had to be on the road..in the ATL now..

Kev,
That little boat sounds good. Not bad my friend.
I'm in SC now and loving it, with the exception of not getting any work done on the boat, and missing my family of coarse.
Take care.

Thanks Bob..
Not too bad for 300 total bucks invested I guess...
It is the perfect time of year to be in SC, cool mornings, warm days and nice nights huh?
I will need to be in Columbia soon, I'll PM you when I put the trip together.
Heck, maybe I can drag mine up there and let you stay in "sanding shape"
lol

Re: My $100.00 14 ft 1950's Lonestar Tinny

Been awhile since I have updated anything here...
Just found a trailer on CL for 100.00 last weekend, so here it is.
Have vacation time coming so I'm going to sand the trailer and paint it.
Yes, I know the boat needs it more! lol

Total dollars invested for boat, 6hp rude and trailer a whopping $400.00

I can live with that

Great example of how to get out on the water without spending too much.

What color are you going to paint the LoneStar?

Re: My $100.00 14 ft 1950's Lonestar Tinny

Thanks guys...

Ez..
I was searching for posts and bow stop bolt ons and saw those guys as well..

Going to look local here and see what I can find as well.
You do NOT want to see what I did to put her in the water earlier this week..lol

Ok..notched "V" in 2x4...laid across the trailer frame..
ratcheting strap from bow eye down to the trailer to put down force to keep the bow down..

I sooooo need a bow stop/winch!

I also got a pair of magnetic trailer lights at HF for 9.99 that work pretty darn good.

And Huron bud..

I know a black frame..but the fenders...hmmm? I dunno..
I need to pick a color for the boat and tie that into the trailer..Was going to do a blue/white like the Holiday..but want to change it up
