What the hey!?!? I am late to the party once again, but somebody's been a real good boy!
That paint scheme you put on that there engine makes it look just like one of those there ultra modern Evinrude E-Tec's...and you even put on the the 90 HP decals on it...man oh man you are talented...do you think you could share some of your painting and detailing techniques with us, I sure would like my old dinosaur to look like that...:jaw:You are going to be cruising like a laser:laser:and HOW!:bolt:
:drum:
I definitely don't have the words to describe how absolutely GREEN with envy I am, but I also know that a more deserving individual does not exist...
Now hurry up and get that puppy wet, I am on a serious JONES here...

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks Pmc ! With my mechanical skills the less I have to touch the better !

Installed the horn and doing some electrical stuff ! Its a bit tarnished so I'll need to clean it up a bit ..

Not real excited about the black wheel . I may replace that at some point . Do ya think paint will stick to it for the time being ? Also would like to make some kind of cover for the wiring harness . If I had some more of the green vinyl I could make a sleeve . I used every sq inch that I had on the seats.

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Get yourself a nice perforated leather steering wheel wrap in white, then maybe just paint the center of the wheel...

Here's a couple quick thoughts...

And that Horn is the coolest one I have ever seen on a boat...if the electric fails, you can just pucker up and blow...:horn::lol:

Sam,

Use some white vinyl and stitch some velcro on it to make a wiring harness. The Krylon Fusion is some really good stuff on plastic. Make sure and wipe it down with Acetone first. Have you checked to make sure you can't adapt your old wheel to that system some how??

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Jbc,
I think I can get the krylon at some of the auto parts places and also Wally world . What do you think about the rusto plastic primer .

GT ,
I like your thinking on the paint scheme ! BTW the horn comes tuned in B-flat from the factory ..

Woody,
Have not tried the old wheel yet it may work . Been thinking on maybe making a skirt for under the splash . Maybe T/J 's still has some of the green vinyl . This can give me some projects after splash that is unless I,ll be busy boatin or fishin !!
BTW , The smaller wheel gives me a bit more knee room than the old wheel .
