Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

You have now pretty much exhausted what little knowledge I had, sorry...

If you use gel w/ wax, don't you have to sand between coats? But if you have to get back on it, I guess you need it to be cured to be on it while rolling on the 2nd coat.

Tape & plan seem to make sense.

Time to turn on the YD bat-signal for gelcoat help.... Anybody heard from oops lately?

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Well way back in my thread I talked about this rib that ran along the raised section of the bow deck . This creates a very undesirable duck pond every time I wash the inside out . You suggested gluing in a few drain tubes which sounds like a good idea . So I am at the stage where I need to finish the deck and would like to install them before the gel . I also need to install a vent tube going under the deck like it was from the factory .
Been thinking how I wanted to treat the area under the bow deck but I have not come up with a plan yet . I kinda like what Jon Sob did with his Carefree ..:)

I remember now!! I'd use 1" cut in half. Drill a 1 1/4" hole an use Hairy PB to set em in place. IF they come out, no problem cuz the PB will still be in place. HECK you could put vaseline on the pvc and then knock it out when the PB cures.

Ahaa I new you would come up with something ! The only setback ,well not really a setback , is when I drill the hole the bottom will be open so I assume grind gel back and kinda lay a layer or two of glass on the bottom then install the greased pipe and pb . This rib looks structural so I need to make it as strong as possible ..

Trying to figure out where mount the trumpet ..And as you can see the front bracket is not the same height as the main bracket . Just seems weird !

I'd mount it as far on the Starboard side as you can get it and still line the front of the trumpet up even with the front of the drop off.

Woody I agree that's prolly the best spot for it ..
Sbb , LOL! I just scared the carp out of my dog that was sleeping next to me in the living room . It is pretty loud !

Not much boat stuff today I needed to take care of much needed yard work for the admiral ..But I did manage to cut the holes for my bow deck duck pond drains ..

Yep and I did cut the pipe to short and dropped it under the deck .

I stuffed the lens in the hole and took a pic . I,m surprised the pic turned out .
This is the first glimpse of anything under the deck that I have seen . I guess I,ll try some bubble gum on a stick to retrieve the piece of pipe . LOL !
