Not on the trim cylinder. You might cant the splashwell to the port....

But it's so narrow versus the full beam of the transom, I think it won't make much difference...

I wouldn't want it to drain directly on the cylinder but it seams to me the cylinder is going to get wet every time you put the boat in the water.
I would put it were it best suits your needs.

Lookin good SP! I think that's the first time my builds been referenced  It sure made sense to me. I hope it works for you!

Put the drain hole where you feel it would be best. I totaly get the "what if's" that can paralyze you before you commit. And you're correct, I think the cylinder would get wet every time you put it in the water. So again, I think where you feel most comfortable with the drain is the best.

Thanks guys ! Appreciate all the input.. It seems after further thinking and actually putting a tape on the motor TT the drain if in the center would be behind the cylinder ... So it's going in the corner.

So today's progress I got all the pieces glued in.. I made pb slot for the last pieces on the inside of splash because it would have been impossible to fillet pb glue in otherwise ..I still need to do more filleting before glass.

I know what you mean about going deep in the pocket. The fiberglass dust eats your skin and the resin eats your wallet.
It looks great so far.

All I got done today was finish up the inside corner fillet's. Got to go baby sit the tile and door guy's at work tomorrow so unless they finish up early I'll get a late start on the glassing tomorrow ..

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Morning everyone!
Yesterday I got home alittle early so I did manage to get a layer of csm and 24 oz woven on everything . I will follow up today with a layer of csm. I've noticed with what little bit of glassing I have done is to work quickly but slow down. Does that make since? It seems when rolling up around corners and such If I slow down and and do light strokes it works the bubbles out much better.
That was the good news.
Now for the not so good news. At least for boat progress..
My wife informed me that next weekend we are hosting a family get together!
Ohhh Carrrp!! I have so much stuff to do around the house. Pool needs cleaning , screen needs patching where stupid yellow ran thru it after a stupid squirrel ! And have butt loads of yard work to do and my Dr trimmer mower is tore up so I can't weed eat!
Oh well enough of my problems hope everyone has a great sunday !
Later S.P. :)

Last layer of csm installed .Still needs a little spot or two glassed in. I also need to figure out size and location of the cable holes and install drain.

Damn that looks sweet sp.

I am in the same boat with having folks over next week. I am sure you will have things fixed up real nice.

I will be on vacation to boot, so should have plenty of progress next week.

That splashwell with jump seats included is really neat... Very well thought out and executed... Looks like it is going to be a nice solid and efficient layout back there... You should be proud... Very good work.
