Compressed Method of Polishing Aluminum...

Bottom of tank before...

Step One clean w/ lacquer thinner and D/A w/ 220 grit...

Step 2 D/A w/800 grit...

Step 3, D/A with 3000 grit with wax added...

Step 4, 3000 grit dry w/ D/A...

Pretty nice reflection for about 20 minutes work on the BOTTOM of the Fuel Tank...

Can you say ... boooored!...ah well, good practice...and if any ants get in there, they'll have a place to comb their hair...

Nice score on the gigantor "go go juice" (what my kids call it) container..

And everyone knows that a pretty fuel tank is a happy fuel tank... :)

Just wanted to come on here for a moment and let everyone know that my thoughts and prayers go out to all that are being or have been affected by the terrible outbreaks of severe weather that are hitting throughout the country...
Stay safe and God Bless and Keep you all...:pray2:

Nice score on the gigantor "go go juice" (what my kids call it) container..

Ain't that the truth...

That is one fine polish you did there..

Thank you, Sir! I was properly schooled in the fine art of polishing brass while in Basic Training...

Gus, my wife thought you had it so thin you could see through!

That has had me laughing all day, thanks! That made my day!

Send to the attention of;
One Bored Iboater
123 Restoration Lane
Gone Fishing, USA.

Wooo, shiny! Doner toys are always the best IMO.

Thanks!

Everyone should own a Mercury Tower of Power once in their boating life. You have to pay to play!

I don't think I could have put it any better...even though I have limited experience in the world of boating, I gotta say, ever since that first time I buried the throttle on that monster, it was love at first plane...

I just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.

During this time of family and friends getting together and enjoying each others company, we need to take the time to remember all the fallen heroes whose lives were placed in harms way to help insure our freedoms and our way of life...

Thank You!, my fallen brothers and sisters...

Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

Well, like has been said many times before, even a little boat related work is progress...

Even though this is strictly a NON-essential, totally UN-needed step in this restoration...

It felt good to do it...

And it reflects well on me...

The next step is to pressure test it...even though it is something I should have done before even thinking of shining it up...

Hey, at least if there are any leaks, they should be easy to detect...

Have a good, y'all...

Wow! I'm just aiming at "clean" for mine at this point. If you find that polishing tanks becomes an uncontrollable obsession for you, I could maybe let you exorcise (or should that be exercise?) your demons on my 125 gallon tank :)
