Congrats on the run of good luck

Thanks FlaCowboy, yep, I admit it I am not a true fisherman, but I sure as heck enjoy tryin to be...:D

Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

Hi y'all...

Hope everyone is having a good and productive weekend...

Beside's spending more than half the day replacing a rotted door in the back of the house, I only got a little boat related stuff done...

DSCF1579.jpg

Pre-fit the new bunk boards to the trailer...now they have to dry out for a week or two before I can trim/round over the edges and bevel the ends, then glue and staple the new carpet on them...

Gotta finish up the back door installation tomorrow, but if I have time left over, I am planning on doing a little-itty-bitty bit of fiberglassing...if I get 'round-to-it...I'll post an update

Happy Sunday...

PS-I think somebody spiked my drink with some ALUMA-TIN flavored Kool-Aid, 'cause I am waiting on a phone call...if anything comes of it I will immediately see the Dr. about a prescription to prevent MBS...although I think the research into the cure for MBS is still an ongoing battle between cash, pole barns, WIVES, and acreage...

You already have the mule? Gotta have a mule to keep an eye on the joint whilst your away!

We need more team players w/ both boats in the garage!:D And the neighbors boat in the yard.... You're definitely gonna need the acres & the pole barn...

Congrats on an option.

Looks like you went pour in foam there. Since that door isn't structural you certainly could have gone with noodles;):p

Yep GT that old door was definitely ready for scrap heap. I'm surprised the boss let you let that one go for so long!
Strike that one off the H/D list!;)

Hate to see you foaming on a door jam and not in the boat, but it looks like it was time for the door to be replaced.
Looks as if you held out as long as you could. :D Great job on the door.

Your glassing looks like a pro did it. Nice and clear and no bubbles.
Hope to see more of it real soon.

Oh, really nice score on the new trailer and the new bunk boards look good too!

Yeah, I'd rather be foaming a boat, too...but the door was kinda causing a draft and leaking all my A/C out...

Thanks, I am still pumped about the trailer...I keep going outside just to look at it and know it's not a dream...

Hey Dave, look closely, the beer is in a "Glass" Bottle...LOL...

Kept "temporarily" fixing it, but it finally gave up the ghost, kinda like puttin a band-aid on a transom, but at least it didn't cause the house to sink...

Thanks!

Actually used up 100ml of some resin I had purchased many moons ago for other , "at the time", boat repairs...
It was just enough to soak the piece and add 1 layer of CSM...

Definitely used it as practice.

Looks like you went pour in foam there. Since that door isn't structural you certainly could have gone with noodles;):p

You should see what it looks like underneath...

Oh wait that's somebody's SC...never mind...

Nice job the GT, you got the rot out real good!

If it isn't the transom and stringers rotting, it's the door...but at least this won't need to be glassed in...

I love it brutha!

Glassin' n' beer's

Is there any other way???...

It's a good thing, when that opportunity knocks phone call comes, you don't want this to be the welcoming doorway

If it's a tinny, the Starmada will surely leave your new hat at this door!:D

Has this pending phone call occurred yet?

Keeping it under wraps is probably best, I feel like a donkey-hole w/ a thread & no SC pickup yet. I was just so stinking stoked to be adding it to the fleet. May need to take a sick day this week.

Looking forward to seeing a 2nd boat in your boatyard or glassing progress in a prudent & judicious manner. I have made a date w/ 2nd woman in my life & my grinder this week too. SC or no SC pickup. Gotta honor my 1st project too...

I went by Thursday and left my number on a note on the door...either they are not interested in selling... or... I had a feeling like there wasn't anybody living there???...

Still haven't recieved a call, yet... but if I don't hear from them this week, I'm going to go by the place again...

Hey Gus, just climbed in the rear end of your elephant and climbed up into the boat, then tripped over a stringer and fell out the other side just to bang my head on the fireplace. I was so mad, that i went and hunted down that neighbor that reported you and punched him in the face. On the way back to your place I stopped in and got some good supplies from your nice neighbor and am now headed back to do some more bottom sanding on my own project. Sorry i missed you.:)

Anyway, just wanted to let you know, just got done finally reading through your thread. It has really been a fun read and your work just looks great. You got skills my friend. So you have all those supplies, now get to glassing. Awesome score on the trailer!

When is your splash date, lol :D

I am aware of several so-called Dr's. on this forum that will gladly write you a prescription for one or two days off...

Heck, I'll even sign one for you by "Epstein's Mother"
