Well we are done with Disney, and it was a blast. We are watching the weather closely, as it is snowing where we are going. We might be delayed a day.

As far as the trailer goes, I noticed that too, and TOTALLY forgot to ask about it. I sure hope it is not a problem.

With all the work you've done with your boats, I don't foresee this being much of a problem for you. I don't recall from your resto threads, do you weld? Maybe a trailer resto thread will be in your future;).
Congratulations on the boat. It looks really good in the pics. You took your time, didn't get impulsive, and it looks like your patience has really paid off:D. Congratulations again.

Safe and happy boating always!!!

Frisco even it is we all know you can handle it it would only require a pc, of tube bent to the profile of the hulls bottom with a rubber rub pad that basically the way mine is. I hope the rst of your trip goes well and be carefull.

I have HUGE pictures of the same pictures I posted, and it looks factory. The Trailer says "sea ray" and the rear tube does not look like it was ever cut off. It just is not there. I cannot confirm this, and I will find out Monday. I just want to get it back to Texas without incident.

We are putting four new tires and packing the bearings before leaving.

Wow, congrats Jay!

Is the Glastron going to stick around? I was kind of hoping you and the family might get a whim and road trip with the other members from Texas to the Glastron meet this summer!

If they dont already have them, Bearing Buddies are great... they're only about 20 deer per pair, too;)

I am not sure what is in store for the Glastron. We might keep it, and we might sell it, but I just do not know yet. There is alot of sentimental value to the boat, but we just need more space. We will have to play that by ear.

Well, we made it to Columbia South Carolina today. We went through some really heavy snow starting in Georgia, and there is a few inches on the ground here. All we have is about 40 miles to go tomorrow before I get to lay my hands on what I hope is my next boat. I am really tired, so I am headed to bead, and I hope that tomorrow night I have lots of great pictures of "Blue Bayou".

Well, I now own a Sea Ray. I have to say that it was a very smooth transaction. We arrived at Lake Keowee SC around 2:00 PM and meet the seller. He had taken it to the tire shop and had new tires put on and the bearings packed. That was super cool. I went over the boat with a fine tooth comb and notated any issues I found. There were only a couple, and not really a deal breaker. I was REALLY impressed with how this guy keeps his toys. We hooked it up to muffs, and she fired off after sitting for three months without a problem. It wanted to jump into gear a few times, but once I adjusted the new shift cable it was fine. Now keep in mind that it is about 38 degrees outside, and what happend next sealed it for me. He said, "lets take her out on the lake". Well twist my arm. We spent the next 45 minutes on the lake hauling butt through some pretty huge chop. I was sold!!!!!!! I got a video of the test drive, but the internet in this hotel is crap, and I cannot upload it.

Anyway we loaded back up, paid the guy, and hit the road, straight into the west sun. What a white knuckle ride that was!!!!!! We made it about 50 miles to a nice little town to stop for the night. It was about 33 degrees by now, so I stopped at the local tractor supply store for a spare tire, and some RV antifreeze. I winterized the boat right there in the parking lot. So we head for home tomorrow, and get as far as we can before night falls. I will be stopping every hour or so to check the tires for heat, but I think we will be OK. I have to say, this thing is HUGE and it very scary to pull down the road.

Here is a list of things what have been done to the boat VS what I see that needs to be done.

Done

1. New deck that is finished with Gel Coat
2. New Blue Gel Coat on the exterior
3. New Bolster Style Captains chair
4. All new stainless emblems and thru-hull fittings
5. New impeller in May
6. Cap rotor and plugs last season
7. New Trailer tires
8. New Snap on bow and cockpit covers
9. New Bimini with front Zip in Window attachment for cool weather boating
10. Newish Mirage Stainless prop
11. 4 Batteries.

Things I see that need to be done

1. Rear seat cushion is damaged due to wind blowing it out on the freeway (not me)
2. Snap in Carpet
3. The belts are a little worn, so I will replace them
4. The gimble bearing was making a little noise, so I will be replacing that.
5. The radio only works with the remote. Not a big deal, but you guys know me.

This was a HUGE gamble for me, and so far I a supper happy with my decision. We will see how the rest of the trip goes. By the time I could take pictures it was dark, so there is not much as of now.

Nice boat, I have always liked the Sea Rays, they make a good boat in that size range. You might want to put some transom straps on the back. Looks like there are hooks for them on the boat and trailer. Looks like fun though.

The pictures do not show the bow section. All
I really do not know much about the 7.4 and the bravo either. A bit expensive to replace if needed.
no more than any other brand and less than some
That's a great looking boat! Like i said earlier, it's OK to pay a bit more for the good ones. Life is too short to mess around with the bad. Be very proud and good luck! :D

I would have to agree. It looks like you got something the whole fam can enjoy :) congrats, looks like a sweet boat
