Re: hull extension in progress with picks

it is going to be curved....really racy lookin.

even using a 10 inch screen...im trying to find a place for it....but its gonna take a few more beer and a long time sitting on that pail playing boat
....

i dont know if you ever tried to view an lcd screen on a sunny day but it doesnt work too well.. backlight vs sunlight. sunlight wins..
you may want to think about a little visor over the lcd or recess it a bit so as to have it in the shadow. Design depending on what your dash will look like..

Oh or make it so you can tilt it a few degrees depending on the way the sun is hitting it.. thats what the better car flip out dvd screens offer to combat the sun coming in. Tilt could be cool for standing vs sitting while driving.

I like that parts site... you can order both a radiator insulator and flux capacitor in one-stop shopping! :)

Quick note for ya oops... when you're figuring out the throttle, make sure you leave enough room for it to go basically horizontal when at WOT... I have the same teleflex model and misread the spec sheet when putting it in.. I bust my knuckles on my dash a lot now. Sure works smoothly though.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

im not too sure about that site.......i looked all over for a muffler berring....finily found it there....but the instructions on how to install it were....well...kinda vauge.....????...now they have just got in the long awated flux capacitors......if you read the comments....there is a problem with tech support just past the year 2035.....so if you go to 2036 and have a berak down....your hooped !

thanks for that suggestion erik.....there is a kinda ledge going to come down right by the shifter....so that is somthing i really need to be aware of right about now.

cheers

Hey Oops,

That beast is really looking good! I am super impressed with all of your patience and dedication to good work. I just read the thread from pg 21 to here and it took me 7 hours over 2 days!! What a ride.

Anyway just to let you know, I am also an Industrial Instrumentation and Control guy that does PLC, DCS and HMI work. The same stuff that Bubba1235 and Colobiker do. Seeing as how I am just up the road, you will have to let me know if you need a hand at any point. I haven't seen Bubba's ideas/design but if someone PM's me a link I would love to preview!

Oh yeah, because you are doing such a great job, I don't think I can even post the pictures of my 1 month stringer and sole job for fear of total inadequacy!

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

it was a long weekend here in canada....(thanksgiving)....and i got the chance to relax a bit....finally.....

here are some up dates i missed from before....

the deck was screwed down into place.....each screw....drilled...the hole filled with 5200 and re drilled into place.

deckingset4012.jpg

it is also imperative that you mark the location of the stringers your drilling into.....this can be done with a string line or a straight edge......if you are out just a smidgeon....tou just drilled a hole in your new deck...and water can and will get in there.

after the holes were drilled and sealed.....the peanit butter was allpied to the seams

deckingset4011.jpg

the easyest wat to do it is to use a plastic putty knife with the corners cut off to give you a nice rounded bead.

deckingset4013.jpg

the peanit butter not only serves to water proof the edges ans gives a surface to glass to with out air....the chopped strans i applied in the mix is also structural.....the deck is now part of the boat....

after the peanut butter was cured....the next step was to cut out the ski locker and beer cooler.....

measurements were taken and the area marked out for the locker
the straight cuts were made with a circ saw

deckingset4015.jpg

and now i have a ski locker
