Right now CRAP. Not in good condition at all. Make sure you have snow tires and a 4x4 is a good idea.

Good luck and have a great day,

Rob

At least we can be happy with yesterdays hockey results.

But man this snow is getting to be too much. I really thought I'd hit the water over Christmas / New Years but the weather just did not play nice.

wow......5 in a row....im still reeling

But man this snow is getting to be too much. I really thought I'd hit the water over Christmas / New Years but the weather just did not play nice.

on the outside chance i can get the motor in the boat soon....i went to the "EL" to look at the boat ramp, the ramp was under a foot of snow and the lake water level was out so far that i would drop off the ramp before i got far enough out to launch. :(

How can someone that dislikes winter live in the Land of Nanuck of the North? I mean isn't it winter there like 11 1/2 months a year? :D :D :D

bubba.....we have disallowed winter to stay for the full 11 1/2 months.....(we had a vote).....depending on canadians love of winter and whale blubber, they can choose to live in locations that feature any where from the maximum allowalable 10 1/2 months of winter......(canadian by-law #2341) and play out door hockey year round (canadian by-law #3) .....or live in an area like tackelwasher and i do where winter is only allowed to a maximum of 5 months a year, with a trasnisition season not longer than one month either side of winter. (this by-law (#7987) was put into placement for us boaters that did not like ice fishing year round) btw.....us people in the warmer climates get to still play hockey out doors year round......but the real bonus is that we get to keep our igloos in the freezer so we dont have to build new ones each year !

Water Street was open when I last looked. Drove from the El (after walking out a couple of feet on the ice) to Water and then to Knox. Water St had been plowed down to the water and completely open. Just not sure where the good fishing is that side of the bridge. I plan to try around Bear Creek once the weather lets me go.

Hello Tackle,

What is the tacklewashing like in March on the big lake? My mother in law sent me an article of the trophy Rainbow they are catching on the lake. Will be going up there in early March for my mother in laws birthday party and debating whether I need to take my tackle washing gear.

Glad to see that Oops was found!! How is the shop search going?

Have a great day,

Rob.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

Been silently watching this thread for months (years?). Anyway, I'm up in Vernon for a bonspeil this weekend. I might be able to get away for a couple if you're on the north side of town. I'd love to see the beast up close.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

Can we do a pub night this weekend? I think a few visitors are in town and I haven't seen oops! for a while. Gotta be sure the Rockets aren't playing or he won't come.

We could do Turtle Bay Pub as it's halfway between Kelowna and Vernon.

This is the first year I've really fished the Big Lake, but it should still be decent in March. It doesn't really tale off until the weather gets hot and the fish go deep.

If it's the article I'm thinking of (and I'm pretty sure it is) then I would recommend him if you need a guided boat. The guy in the article is a good friend of mine and I often go out with him when he is searching the lake for hot spots to guide to. Will either go out with him or go in my boat this weekend as the weather looks to be improving (how's the puddles down in Vancouver???).

Or I may be going out at that point as well. I'm just not as good as Rod is.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

and thanks yar....the government finally broke my back......had to close the store for good the other day. :(

so i decided to take a few days off and just relax.......(im on day #1)
the accountants say that i still have to wait for due process till i play my cards but in the mean time they cost me my buisness.
my local mp (ron cannon) is a good buddie of mine and he is aware of everything they have done, (his wife cindy is ready to kill)......but i was told to keep him out of it for a while, till the final arbritration.

my local resin rep said he had a few contacts for shops that have come avalible......and he is doing some digging for me........i was actually allready supposed to be moved into one, but the weather, and my store got in the way.

Wow, that sucks Ward. I can't even fathom the reasons behind you having to close shop! Is this potentially just a temporary situation, or permanent? ( hopes it's the former ).

Ahh. I was thinking Friday night. I see the Rockets are playing both Friday and Sat. Sunday does not work for me as I plan to be fishing. Supposed to hit 10C Sunday.

And sorry about the store. Any ideas what's next for you?
