Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.
I got a kick out of this one. 19 tires wow!!
5x8 enclosed trailer, beat up

I've got an old EZ-Haul 5x8 trailer I'd like to move asap. It it beat up. I used it for a few years and while pulling it back and forth across the continent blew out 7 tires, which ended up ripping off the fenders on both sides. Luckily soon after the 13th tire blew I realized it just needed bigger tires so that is what you see on it now. While the fenders were ripping off they took off the bolts that held them flush with the green plastic siding, and now the siding is loose on both sides due to that and other factors due to aging. Also while blowing out 19 tires, some cosmetic metal bumper pieces were mangled. No big deal. It would occasionally leak, but never bad enough or consistent enough in placement to warrant fixing the leaks. It carried a bunch of pricey music gear, stuff that shouldn't get wet, but I just moved things around accordingly and never had a real problem with it. Those leaks now pale in comparison to other injuries the thing has sustained...
The last time it was used was June '09, driving from Salem, Massachusetts to Seattle in a straight shot. After being jackknifed into the side of the van by someone other than me right after leaving Salem, it was in a sorry state. The front corner was crunched, one of the sides was nearly falling off, the doors closed a little tighter than normal, and you could see into it at multiple points while standing near it. Still it drove home just fine with a vertical board, a C-clamp and maybe some rope keeping it all together.
Since it has been sitting almost a year, one of the tires has gone flat. The tires and rims were purchased in '07 and probably have 15k to 20k miles on them. They're in good shape and should be fine, and after being pumped up the trailer could conceivably be pulled away. Other considerations... I HAVE NO TITLE. When I bought it the day before leaving on a trip (for $1200, ha!) I was given only a Bill of Sale because they seller's granddaddy misplaced the title. I figured I'd handle it when I got home, but that proved to be a headache so I just kept using it with expired plates. Even after the license plate was crumpled beyond all readability by the constantly exploding tires, no police personnel ever commented or cared. Oh yeah, it doesn't have a license plate anymore as it's laying somewhere in California along I-5. Still, I never got pulled over for anything trailer-related, they would only ask about the van registration. Take that as you will...
Now that I've dissuaded the more fair-weather vintage trailer fanatics, anyone looking for a cheap flatbed trailer or possible utility trailer / rebuild project would enjoy this. It's not much to look at, other than the fantastic elephant decals that say "Movin' On," but I'm convinced I could still take it 1000 miles tonight if I needed to. A little more road grime would find its way inside than normal, but it would go. Comes with heavy duty padlock and key, has standard 2" ball hitch, no stand, and I would LOVE to have someone take it by Thursday as I'll be leaving town on Friday.
Thanks for looking. I'll start by asking $250, who's interested enough to make an offer?
