"cosmetically burned" for 2000 dollars, how can you resist this deal!

Great project boat for crafty person. If your handy with fiberglass this is the boat for you. The hull is in great condition. I believe the boat is an early 90's-40th anniversary Limited edition.

The trailer should be worth this price.

Yeah. Handy with fiberglass. Also handy with upholstery, handy with carpet, handy with wiring and handy with treading water. $2000! How can I resist? Easy!

I'll let this one speak for itself:D:D

http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/boa/1450406920.html

FREE - 1947, 42 Foot US NAVY Open Boat with Inboard 350cc Chrysler Motor, MC# 4947 SV

Impounded from the Infamous Hedonist Club. Clear title! Former Navy transporter, Maine lobster fishing boat and then used for tours of Grayhaven Island.

This is the PROJECT BOAT OF THE CENTURY!!! Yes, it IS sunk but think outside the box - perfect for child's playhouse, hunter's blind or even a tomato planter (but big enough to fit the whole garden too).

FREE, but you must have a trailer or be willing to pay 1/2 of transport cost. This is a classic that needs serious restoration and TLC!

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that the 350cc motor is really a 350ci motor (cubic inches not cubic centimeters). That boat looks pretty cool to me. I hope someone on this site restores it so i can follow the thread.

TRAILER: 1999 Five-Star boat trailer in great condition. 8,000 lb. capacity. Rollers.

BOAT: 1984 Penn Yan Avenger. Tunnel drive. 23' with 9'6" beam. 260 Crusader/350 Chevy motor. 25 hp Mercury trolling motor with electric start, controls and steering wheel. New canvas. UNFORTUNATELY, this boat sat on the bottom of Seneca Lake for 24 hours! No holes in the boat, we believe the "stuffing box" failed. In all likelihood the motors will need to be replaced or possibly rebuilt. This was a great boat for us, but we just don't have the time or energy to bring it back to full working order.

PRICE: $3,000 or best offer -- must take boat and trailer

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

I too had an opposite experience on the 1st boat I bought since getting back into fishing about 3 years ago. The seller had it on Craigslist with pics but he didn't answer my emails nor phone calls. Then about two weeks later I read the same ad but with a different phone number which I called and scheduled to view the boat. It was co-owned by three guys who used it to fish Catfish and none ever cleaned the deck or cuddy cabin after each outings. It was a mess so I offered a rediculous price which surprisingly he accepted. My wife thought I was nuts when I brought it home. But after three days of scrubbing, power washing and buffing the boat turned out to be a diamond. Best Delta Striper/Sturgeon fishing boat I've owned...wish I had kept it .

This ad should read "Neglected Ranger, Top$$. Will trade, no junk for my junk." Just my opinion. Also notice the wonderful spelling. Not that I'm much betterer.:D

"cosmetically burned" is back, he has reduced his price to $1500 and removed the close up photo of the burned out inside. i am tempted to call him and ask how long it was "cosmetically on fire".

Ok now not only am I hooked on craigslist and classifieds I am hooked on this thread.

I dont know about price but this guys description of price is classic!

----

Who wouldn't want a ski boat for Xmas! This 1993 MasterCraft Prostar 190 has been well cared for and always garaged. Email with questions or for more pictures. If your thinking about waiting until the spring, the price will be more realistic, i.e. higher! Thanks
